They're not inept. They are much better at programming and developing games than any Japanese developer that isn't Capcom.
The problem is that their design philosophy is targeted at a different audience - normies who want relaxing cinematic shit to play after work, not games as we know them.
If they wanted to produce quality they could be making games ten times better than Japan starting tomorrow morning.

Did you play it yet? I said the exact same thing up until i actually got a PS4 and installed
the demo for it and it was fun as shit, the gameplay videos don't do it justice the combat is just smooth as hell and flows well.
Even if you don't care about the side crap Xenoverse was still really fun and probably my favorite dbz vidya. The combat worked well and you could pull of some sick combos once you get past the learning curve.

They could be so much more, just give that kind of art direction and budget to a director like kojima, miyazaki, kamiya and see what comes out of it.

My favorite capcom games are dragons dogma and dmc 4/3 and they're not clunky garbage at all to anybody.
