There were German West African troops involved in the war, almost any nation with notable colonies did use many of them to provide soldiers later on into the war. Not enough to really warrant colonial troops in a game though. The only exception to this is britain where they pulled millions of their troops in from colonies, Australia does deserve to be in the game, as they had one million troops in the war and around 400,000 casualties which was a very significant portion of their population (even today, its only like 21m or so). A lot of indians and africans were involved to.

The Germans weren't winning. They forced the lines back, that's all. They took back what they had lost, by Britain and France purposely giving ground.
If your supplies are 3km behind you in your current defensive position, you can keep supply coming to you in the event of an attack, forcing the enemy to expend disprortinate amounts of firepower and manpower in destroying your defensive positions.
If your supplies are 3km behind you in your defensive positions, but you suddenly advance 1km in 2 days, your supplies are now 4k behind and being moved to be within 3k. Then you advance 3km more in another 2 days. Making it 7km. Then you advance another 6km in 2 days. Making it 13km behind.
Unless you've got heavy motorized transports (the Germans didn't in 1918 and they didn't in WW2 either until about 1944 and even then it wasn't enough) keeping your offensive forces supplied, you have to stop, consolidate and then re-attack. All of which takes time and supplies.
But that's the thing, anon. The Germans didn't have supplies. They couldn't feed their army, let alone the army AND the civilians. Civilians JOINED the army for FREE FOOD. That's how bad it was.
So, couple that with a stretched supply line, which needs to be defended from attack, and you're left with a situation that sucks.
Germany wanted to claim as much land as possible so when peace came, they could claim it in their deal.

Best thing about Aussie history is that it's short. So we can finish it in an arvo and move onto world history.

Going to copy what I said in the other thread about black Germans.
Most of the blacks on African front were Askaris too, just levies with minimal training. The Germans didn't have the infrastructure or colonial administration skills that the British and French had to organize and arm units of colonials. Where as the British had the King's African Rifles (for ex) and the French had an entire muslim corps the Germans had the likes of a few officers and NCOs guiding mostly armed tribesman. Provided in the East Africa campaign, the Belgians (who did a lot of the fighting) were frankly not much better, remember the Congo was pretty much 99% undeveloped shithole and the troop quality was below the goddamn ground.
Needless to say Black french troops on the western front did happen, the French sent plenty of there colonials to fight in France (however most of them were from North Africa aka Zouves, Spahis, or Tirailleurs)
