Anon, I'm sorry to tell you no stealth game will EVER top that again.
I admire your optimism though.

FUCKING BUMP. Where is my stealth selection? Excluding Dishonored 2, which is obvious.

I'll take anything at this point

So long as it's stealth, and not action with forced stealth sequences
>>
>>341202565
not at e3 but copper dreams seems cool if you don't mind isometric games
>>
>>341203365
>copper dreams
Oh hey that does look cool

I liked Commandos and stuff like that so maybe I'd like that one
>>
>>341203012
>not action with forced stealth sequences
I... I admire your optimism.

That being said, there is maybe a pipe dream with that Vampyre game, but its a fucking long shot. 99% chance it doesnt come close to what theyre promising. But that 1%...

>>341203686
There's also underrail that's already out that supports stealth too. pirate it and check it out

Not sure if it counts as stealth, but what the fuck happened to Routine? Is it vaporware?

Praise the builder anon

dishonored 2 can probably be played pure stealth
>>
>Any decent-looking new stealth games shown at E3?

Why are you asking this?
>>
>>341204314

Probably, but it will still be about empowerment, which is the polar opposite of stealth mechanically.
>>
>>341205230
You can choose wether to play with or without the supernatural stuff
>>
>>341205353

and you can play doom without the shotgun, that doesn't mean it's designed well without it.
>>
>>341205734
The game will still work fine without them. You could do the same in dishonored be it by player will. it was just a lot tougher (obviously).

They have mild parkour movement (being able to pull yourself up ledges and such) so you can still traverse the environment. You just can't easy peazy teleport to locations.

I don't know. Arcane seems to know what they're doing. And Bethesda isn't intrusive in developers.
>>
Do you guys think a stealth game in outer space would work? Like Silent Hunter mixed with Freespace 2
>>
>>341206412

>I don't know. Arcane seems to know what they're doing.

Yeah, they know how to make an action game with a stealth veneer. Which is fine no it's not but I'm assuming OP wants a traditional stealth game.

>and not action with forced stealth sequences

You are out of luck, the only game that might do this nowadays are low-budget indie games
>>
Nowadays I wish I'd have never played classics like thief 2 so I could enjoy modern games like a normal person.
>>
Dishonored and Deus ex are only ones I know of. And maybe styx too.
>>
>>341206412
I haven't played Dishonored but it looks way more fun messing every single guard up instead of trying to ghost. I hope the sequel fixes this but the non-lethal powers look like they make all the job for you instead of giving you tools or gadgets for different situations. That mesmerizing power just looked boring to use for example since you just use it and you don't have to worry about the guards anymore at all.
>>
>>341207983
How can you even enjoy Thief 2? It's so boring and the setting is generic, and most games have mastered Thief's gameplay. The only thing interesting about it is the level design
>>
>>341208614

>and most games have mastered Thief's gameplay.

Like fucking what?

How is thief 2 generic? Also there are no games that try to do stealth in the same way. It might be a bit clunky in some spots for today's standards but it's a great example of game design in almost every level.
>>
>>341202565
Not really no.
But Dishonored 2 and Deus Ex Mankind Divided are coming soon indeed.
>>
>>341202565
They announced Styx 2 not too long ago.

Hitman Blood nigga. and Splinter Cell Chaos Theory

>>341208796
Wow I'm in the fucking back of a building damn dude
>>
>>341209770
Blood money and Chaos Theory handle stealth in completely different ways. Go more into detail because I'm not convinced at all.
>Wow I'm in the fucking back of a building damn dude
This sound like a stupid nitpick instead of an actual complain on why it's "generic".

Horizon Zero Dawn
Days Gone (maybe)

>>341209770
Chaos Theory is pretty lineal compared to Thief 2, not a bad game but not similar to Thief at all aside from genre and shadow/light systems. And Hitman couldn't be more different in how you must tackle objectives and level design, what the fuck are you smoking?
>>
>>341209770
Have you ever actually played the LGS Thief games?
>>
>>341209770
>Wow I'm in the fucking back of a building damn dude
This is the most retarded logic I've seen in quite some time, here's your (You)
>>
>>341210646
Tell me what's so different about Thief 2? Most of the time you either encounter the enemy or don't, or if you it's in interesting ways but still in the simple encountering method. For example in the first mission you must quench the fire, or fight the enemy. You fail to do that, you fail the mission as Romeo gets caught. How does that make it a great game? There's nothing interesting about avoiding enemies and walking like a fucking snail

Unless you're trying to immerse yourself in being a thief, but even that is stretching it
>>
>>341211430
Your same argument could be applied to almost every stealth titles since you are only considering the most basic and simplistic form of encounter possible or even worse one from the tutorial level.
There's a lot of things that change how you must approach all of these situations in thief ranging from the type of floor you're walking on, you must rely on hearing the footsteps of your enemies instead of using 3rd person camera. And the level design is never too obvious making exploration a better strategy than wasting all your water arrows on every torch you see. Level design is huge and most levels are designed in a way that allow multiple approaches and are probably the least linear levels in the genre.
>>
>>341211430
holy shit you haven't even played past Running Interference
>>
>>341211430
>Using the tutorial mission as an example.
You know that the tutorial levels of Hitman and SC are just as bad if not worse right?
>>
>>341212159
I see. I only brought this up because I generally pick up and drop Thief 2 by the end of the 2nd level. I don't find it enjoying or stimulating to avoid enemies and find locked keys in the process. I will say the level design is interesting, and using the conversations of the guards and footsteps a good tool in not getting caught. but what makes you enjoy the game? For me it's pretty much a walking sim until you encounter an enemy, in which case you stand still for 20 seconds until you begin again. I'm not asking you to convince me why stealth games are worth playing. I know they take patience, but overall they're not as rewarding as worth playing in my opinion. Thief 2 is no excuse.
>>
>>341209770
holy shit this can't be real haha
>>
>>341212731
>I see. I only brought this up because I generally pick up and drop Thief 2 by the end of the 2nd level
Your opinion is invalid then since you know nothing about the game's design and how it expands on the first scenarios it presents. and it shows.
>>
>>341212731
Sorry, didn't know you had ADHD. Maybe SC Conviction and BamHam are more up your alley.
>>
>>341213204
I know. I'm just a casual at heart. I'll never appreciate Thief 2 because I don't take the time to figure out how to avoid enemies properly without getting pissed off. The only stealth game I can think of that I enjoyed was Mark of the Ninja, and that one doesn't rely on heavy stealth mechanics
