It was more of a "Crash is a silly harmless marsupial" rather than "Rad Marsupial from the 90s" Both are great.
He was even kinda cute in Twinsanity at moments.

I like crash 1-3 a lot but they were a direct product of the ps1 hardware and fact that full 3d platforming hadn't been figured out yet.
Nowdays there's no point in having a 3d platformer where all you do is move down straight hallways with a fixed camera and occasionally switch to 2d sidescrolling.

Hoping for Crash and DMC 5
I replayed 1 this week , and i still like it as much as i did when i was a kid.
and it still offers a great challenge.
Artstyle still holds up , gameplay is solid and offers great challenge.
The only downside is D-pad forced controls.

I feel you anon but in this age of nostalgia and other factors Crash can hold up just fine. I even written a draft editorial on (my own opinion) how to bring him back.
I play it yearly and even recently on the vita and regardless on peoples opinion on crash as a platformer you cannot deny the mastery of CTR

It's strange to say but I loved some of the gimmick levels. Also the levels were brighter and had a wider palette so was visually more appealing to me
