that internal PSU means more heat?
more heat means less lifespan?

Did you know that PS4 is always 10-12C degrees hotter than the Xbox?

Thank you autistic children, you made it, now Xbox has an internal power supply and it there is a power surge your console is dead.
>>
Sure helped the Xbox 360.
>>
The PS3 first slim had the best ventilation of any console.

The PS3 and PS4 power supplies are so easy to replace it's literally a non-issue anyway.

You literally just take the casing off, unplug them and slide a new one in.
>>
>>341113072
YROD

Maybe M$ wants a new red ring of death so they can sell more consoles than PS4, but it doesn't die until out of warranty this time!
>>
>>341112372
You sure about that? Mine sounds like a fucking jet engine after a couple hours of running.
>>
The Xbone APU is only a 120W TDP part. Slim is likely this APU on 14nm which probably drops the APU to sub 60w. Heat should not be an issue assuming 14nm.
>>
>>341111658
Who gives a shit if there is a power surge, I have insurance.
>>
>>341113603
But if they have an 80% efficient power supply (which I doubt), then 20%+ of heat of the total power goes right into the box before it even does anything!

Why don't PC's have external power supplies?
>>
>>341113486
Depends on the game.
>>
>>341111658
I complained about this last night. Fuck you fags defending an internal power brick because youre lazy and just want a cable.

Who cares? The Xbones edge is 78 degrees, even with instant on with apps+games in the background it never goes over 58. So they 20 degrees to work with, and that's before the smaller chipset with uses less power and produces less heat. The XBone was only that big and had a PSU purely because of the RRoD fiasco. There's no need for it to be huge anymore.

The difference isn't significant to suggest that ps4s don't last ad long as Xbox

A good PSU produces a negligible amount of heat
The fan in mine in my PC rarely even kicks on

As long as the ventilation design doesn't involve blowing the PSU heat exhaust over the components (ie it's at the end of the exhaust chain) it's perfectly fine to have an internal PSU

I don't know who Microsoft uses as a board vendor. First xbox is a nightmare all around. 360 probably the worse mainstream console in terms of hardware quality. Don't know about XBox one. Controllers are pretty cool. Like how they finally copied the good from SEGA and Nintendo.

I know they're not using Japanese based manufacturer.
>>
>>341128304
Judging from your posts I wouldn't be surprised if you just fucked everything up in the installation.
>>
>>341128849
It should be obvious at this point. No one who uses the word "meme" incorrectly and unironically is in any way intelligent.
>>
>>341128551
For one example they have these massive thick USB male ends with bulging tumors in the wire for whatever fucking reason

While in comparison the playstation will simply plug in a micro USB to the controller, with nothing huge and proprietary/expensive.

I mean the xbox shit works (except for the overheating in the 360) but its just laughable how they make things HUEG for the most part, a comparison of classical japanese vs american tech down to the core.
>>
Is that why I've had 2 PS4s die?

>>
>>341113968
you can just put your PSU outside of your PC if you want. I have, no problem. But it did not affect my temps at all. Some PSUs exhaust out the back, and others into the case. Mine is the case exhaust style. That type is quieter.

with the 360 you had to use their proprietary shit to charge your controller while the ps3 had a simply usb port to charge, no batteries either

though charging every few days could become annoying

and then that wifi not being included with the 360 thing for another example

You know the name grid kind of implies that there are multiple routes that power can be drawn from.
If weather knocks out one point then it can be routed elsewhere, if that isn't the case then it's a bad power grid.

We have weather in my part of the world too

After working in gaming retail for 8+ years I can tell you that the amount of broken xbox units due to overheating is about 10 times as much as ps3/ps4 with internal heating. As a matter of fact, the first ps4 with a heating related defect still has to come.
