They're adding in combat that you control (aim at different body parts) and quests that you can send people out on that actually let you explore new places in something other than just a text box.
It's also coming to PC, but I imagine anyone who wants to play it on their PC is already playing it through BlueStacks or something.

Fallout Shelter is a pretty good mobile game.
It's the kind of game that you'll play for a week every update but in between updates you won't really care about.
It's totally free, so you might as well give it a shot.
Also, you should totally play the other Fallout games, they're good.
