I'm not so sure its just that though. In game, its stated that once he "lost" Susie, he devoted himself to the company, but his one wish was to see her. If that's true, then why not look for her instead of doing this invasion and all that? Why create cloning tech? The game makes it a point to mention how much the machines Haltmann uses costs, how cloning doesn't recreate a soul, AND the fact that Haltmann laments reactivating the machine to see her in Star Dreams last bio. I dunno. He seemed pretty sane to me when you first meet him. And his bios don't seem all that insane. I dunno, something just doesn't seem to add up to me, but it might just be me overthinking it. It's just strange that he's so obsessed with his daughter, going so far as to create missiles and money in her likeness and a machine that has cloning capabilites as his ultimate life's work and he doesn't even seem to register his daughter is right there. Poison is actually incredibly inventive and useful as far as Kirby abilities go, so I'd say to keep it (but repackaged to not look exactly like Water, FFS).
ESP is nice, obviously, but I would prefer Yo-Yo back, and we don't really need two abilities referencing Earthbound/Mother.But imagine if power combining returned. ESP + Yo-Yo would destroy the universe, I'm almost positive.

Haltmann became a cold CEO during her absence, and while he started the company and Star Dream with the goal of bringing back his daughter, by the time she returned he had lost sight of his original goal and was more concerned with power. So am I the only one who noticed the gold statues have their hair done a bit differently than Susie? There might be some other little differences between the two, but if the gold statues are specifically Haltmann's daughter, and Susie bears some differences, it might serve as a flimsy excuse for why he wouldn't recognize her.
