You guys are wrong about single player game modes you know.
Not every game needs them. I'd rather have more polish given to a game's multiplayer than wasted dev time put into a scripted, linear 2 hour campaign with cinematic set pieces and QTEs.
Case in point COD hasnt had a good campaign in years, yet the campaigns are apparently a selling point and advantage over games that don't have them.
Titanfall doesn't need a campaign.
Battlefield doesn't need a campaign.
Overwatch doesn't need a camopaign.
And stop calling it "story-mode". If there IS a campaign in a multiplayer-focused shooter, it's purpose should be to introduce the player to the game mechanics and home them in on improving as a player, not forcing some tacked on porno-tier plot.

Any time spent on a single player mode wouldn't have gone into "polishing" the game anyway. The issue is games like titanfall and somewhat for overwatch is that the multiplayer is also lacking in content. While overwatch's new content is free, titanfall you need to get the DLC if you don't want to feel like the game is shallow.
Also battlefield is an unusual case as all games before bad company were fine without the singleplayer.
