To be fair, I assume it's called Prey because it continues the trend of sci-fi+supernatural horror-action shooter. I really liked that about the original prey, it was at once a crazy space adventure while also being spooky and disturbing at times. It seems like they might not go back to the Native American thing, so either they'll have something to replace it or it will be just supernatural and sci-fi happening together like F.E.A.R. but in space with aliens maybe.

Prey had some really great core concepts but the execution was clunky as fuck, so Arkane doing a ~~ r e i m a g i n i n g ~~ is reasonably promising, even if retaining some of the native American stuff and so on would have been interesting.
Completely independently of prey, you could do something really fun with the original Prey 2 concept. Given that you could now pitch it as an open world Guardians of the Galaxy player character meets Blade Runner's cyberpunk aesthetic it'd probably be far easier to get publisher executives on board.
