It was actually a new studio they just created from scratch with entirely new and young employees specifically to make classic style JRPGs, this was their first game and more of like a test to see if they could do it. They're dev team will get more higher budget for their next games.

Of course I'll buy and play games created in the older styles, but their price needs to be adjusted for content. This is why indie games are so popular and profitable. Cheap to make, and break even with relative ease.

CT was still like, a 25-30 hour game the first time through when you had no idea where to go or what to do.
And even when you do, it becomes a roughly 10 hour game.
CT is the perfect length, in my opinion, and became a classic because of how accessible to replay it because you don't have to dedicate 100+ hours to one playthrough.
People tend to forget that's a legit option. But everyone these days seems to have ADD and has to move onto the next shiny, and never play through a game a second time.
This looks like a fake ass attempt to recapture CTs success.
And I'm falling STRAIGHT for it.
The art direction overall is something that excites me more than anything. Even if it is "just okay" i'm down for spending $40 for Just okay CT-Like game.
