I much prefer DMC1's somewhat Castlevania style structure and it's not even that hard. While in comparison i get lost when i play missions in the middle of DMC3 playthrough constantly (i backtracked all over back to the bar and Dante's shop only to realize just wasted 5 minutes more than once).
