Ulduar was the best part though. Everything else you said is valid and that one raid does not make up for it.
Too be fair I started playing during BC launch and beat illidan and kiljaden pre nerf and wotlk so that was the most challenging and social part of the game that I have ever gotten too but damn was it great.

No, it's really average in design. The problem was that the rehashed raids and ToC blew and the way WotLK was designed ended up forcing you to do ICC and only ICC for an extremely long time because catchup gear killed the need to ever go back for gear. (That's a double edged sword, by the way, FUCK going back to Kara every single week for months after I personally outgrew the need to go there).

I found that the less tools there were for getting dungeon groups together, the more people there'd be willing to join them.
The only people who got fucked over by the lack of tools were retards, i often had an easier time getting groups up when the tools were scarce.
Looking at the DPS queues for LFD, it actually made it slower to get groups than before.

I'm probably not going to explain this very well, but I'll have a go: people are saying that the finder was necessary and that finding groups without it was a lot harder (I never really noticed to be honest).
But, if it was easy to find a group on your server *with* the finder, then it means the demand to find a group for it was always there, and that people were just not communicating. That's on the players, and shows that even before these 'anti-social' elements were in the game people who weren't in a guild didn't want to roll a PUG. That's your fault.

It means that the demand for an easy to access dungeon group that didn't interrupt the flow of your questing because your could fire and forget, gave extra XP, money, and level appropriate loot over a normal dungeon, didn't involve dealing with being the only one who went to the summoning stone while everyone else spammed "sum plz" while all of them refuse to go to the summoning stone, and didn't involve dealing with idiots who listened to you say "I'm Shadow" or "I'm Arms", summoned you to the dungeon, then kicking you when they realized you weren't a healer or a tank, was always there. Why? You could only get those from farming heroic dungeons and other than the spellcaster trinket (?) they weren't comparable to raiding gear. You got a full set of gear from heroics and grabbed 1 or 2 extras with the badges you got.
