Am I the only one who gets the feeling that this moding thing Bethesda doing is precursor to "moded paywall" version 2.0?
>>
I'm wondering how this will affect the mods we already have.
>>
Is this even a new engine? Are the textures a higher resolution or something? like 2k?
>>
>>340986773
>Better textures
>More foliage
>An ENB
Other than that, it's the same.
>>
Of course paid mods will return. This time, they'll be smarter with their implementation.
>>
It absolutely is.

Though I don't see how they can really enforce it on PC. Consolekeks deserve to be jewed out considering how they are handling FO4 mods now.
>>
>>340986773
Better baseline visuals. Which is going to help with modding.

ENB's look like over processed shit but you have to use them to fix the awful vanilla shadow rendering. But the engine upgrade fixes that so it makes ENB obsolete for actual gameplay instead of screenshots.
>>
>>340987494
I wonder if the modmakers will fall for it a second time especially after many of them said they'll do it again.
>>
>>340986773
it has all the engine updates that fallout 4 got, so it has better lighting, new shadows, actual cloth physics, and can use more than 4gb of ram and doesn't have vram limitations. textures are probably a little higher that the original PC maximum textures.
>>
>>340986448
Will consoles be getting the same mods the original Skyrim had? Will the special edition Come with all its DLC? What's the price going to be?
>>
>>340987791
>Though I don't see how they can really enforce it on PC.
The same way they did last time, retard

Only this time they won't cave in when everyone complains
>>
If pirating becomes the only way to get mods for Bethesda games, I'm just not going to play them anymore.
>>
>>340988215
don't know the price but it comes with all DLC.

consoles will get the mods that modders port to console. not all modders will, but enough will port over that console gamers will have a decent little library to choose from. mostly small, "funny" stuff like the dragons to trains mod.

if you're asking if the mods in original skyrim are compatible with the remastered skyrim, the answer is yes. it's the same engine and the same assets. maybe a few mods will need updating, like ENBs, but ENB won't be coming to console anyway.
>>
>>340988186
A fellow non-cretin

Are you excited to be able to use temporal anti aliasing in combination with ENB's
>>
>>340988643
honestly, i just want the game to crash-to-desktop less frequently.

why bother when you can't even have roving hoards of muscular futa orc bandits to go around raping peoples mouths and asses
>>
>>340986448
FUCK YOU
WHERES MY TES6?
>>
>>340988981
Or that. Not having to use memory patchers would be nice.

Getting Fallout 4 to crash is quite the task, Skyrim you just load up enough shit and the 1st ram cache overloads when loading your save.

because console players have more tasteful fetishes.
>>

People are delusional to think paid mods arent coming back. In time.

Anyone who owns a console does not know what (s)he wants. Thats why (s)he got the console in the first place.

We're probably going to have the same mods ported over to console minus the sex mods which I don't care about. Also I know there expanding the mod size for FO4 mods on console so there's a possibility of better big mods.
>>
Considering they created their own mod - downloading platform specifically for their games, I think it's safe to say that they have plans to bring back paid mods
>>
>>340990602
Why would they bring back paid mods?free mods are basically a free ploy to get people to buy the game. Yes there's paid mods it's called the game.
>>
>>340991303
>Why would they bring back paid mods?
Because the potential profit from mod sales is tantalizing.

I hope you're right that console mods is just a way to sell more copies, though.
>>
By starting with free mods then changing to paid they're going to piss everyone off again
>>
>>340991303
They have to increase PROFIT every yearand they got to do that somehow,.
>>
>>340986448
Of course it is, this is why they put marketing behind it this time.
>>
>>340989410
People are deluded to think paid mods are a bad thing.
With the cucks butthurt that people took their mods and made them available to console.
Because posting a free mod onto a platform that is free, is stealing. But pirating a brand new game isnt.
Pc gamers are pretty fucking entitled.
>>
>>340991547
>>340991769

Making something free then changing it to paid would piss so many people off. They are clamping down on stolen mods so there being somewhat responsible. What might happen is popular modders might get paid the way popular YouTubers do which might be even worse.
>>
>>340990534
I doubt it. Tons of skyrim mods use the script extender and that doesn't work on consoles.
>>
>>340992197

>People are deluded to think paid mods are a bad thing.

Companies don't do that of charity, to support modders. They do that so they can monetize community made content so they don't have to pump out DLC all the time.
>>
>>340990534
Most good mods are going to need the script extender, you're probably not going to see a whole lot of good stuff.
>>

>>
>>340994315
If you're smart you'd wait to get that, there's no telling what Todd has up his sleeves. For all we know he's trying to reintroduce paid mods, and the SE will make all mods for the regular game obsolete.
>>
>>340988186
>actual cloth physics
why the fuck are u lying u fucking retard jew?
>>
>>340994923
>wait to get something free
I'd only wait if there's a chance it has viruses. Yeah paid mods may be a thing of course but I really do not give a single shit about most mods at all. Every mod I like such as naked women are available on nexus even though they are supposedly more limited.
>>
>>340994923
Oh wait sorry I just realized you think it may take the original out of my library. We dont know yet if thats the thing, I'm sure it wont be.
>>
>>340986448
it's not a percursor, its not a secret either they have been upfront about the fact that is what they want and plan to do.
>>
>>340994315
>On steam
Interesting. I think they're probably aiming to bleed console users dry then. See the post conference interview with Todd, didn't talk about the PC version until they specifically asked him to clarify for which platforms its on, then admits that PC users have had these visual options through mods a long time ago. This is mostly for console users foremost.

Or maybe I'm overthinking it and it'll be cheap all around for everyone. You never know with bethesda
>>
>>340994315
what are the odds skyrim goes on sale over the summer sale?
>>
>>340995461
100% for 5 bucks unless bethesda decide to be jews because of the future update
but i doubt it, you could probably pick it up for the same 5 bucks right now on some cd key websites considering skyrim legendary has been dirt cheep for years now and on sale constantly
>>
>>340995461
It's always on sale, so 90% chance.
>>
>>340995814
Elder scrolls franchise always goes on sale during Quakecon, which is before the SE release
