Use a wired one
>>
Xbone or get one of the transforming d-pad 360 controllers and a wireless dongle separately.
>>
>>340986338

mouse and keyboard you fucking pleb
>>
>>340986338

I got one of those and it works pretty good. It's black though.
I heard the wired one is better though
>>
>>340986767
Not every game plays well on mouse and keyboard you fucking faggot. Many games play better on a controller.

INPUT LAG!

If you have older console controllers you like laying around, dongles for them aren't expensive. Don't kid yourself that you can play FPS on PC without Keyboard/Mouse, though.

I'm using a Wii U Pro controller with a wireless adapter. Works real nice.
>>

I use the wired one. It's the best controller I've used.

Yes, because obviously mouse and keyboard is the absolute best for every single game out there.

Man I wish I could get my hands one of the launch 360 pads.

I've gone through THREE of these fucking black 360 pads so far, and every single one of them I've had to take apart in order to sand down the gates around the thumbsticks so that they could even register full motions.
>>
>>340986338
I use a ps4 controller. Used it to play witcher 3 on pc and it was pretty gud.
>>
Xbone controller would probably be better. Directional pad on 360 controller sucks.
>>
>>340986338
If you have an Xbone wireless controller, just get a micro-usb cable for like 4$.
>>
>>340986338
I use the Xbox one controller. I'd recommend it.
>>
>>340986338
Wired 360 controller is high tier PC gamepad. Xbox One or Dual Shock 4 are nice but more expensive and more hassle to set up.
Most games use 360/X1 graphics for interfaces so there's that if you have a weird OCD about things like that.
>>
>>340987174

Wait, wait, wait... wait.

I can use a ps4 controller on my PC?
>>
best controller

I have the black one

the D-Pad is ok is you don't care to be competitive. I have a Logitech F310 when I have to charge my batteries
>>
Xbone
The build quality is really nice and will last you a very long time.

360 controllers are good too, but the rubber on the sticks start to go off after like 5 years (from my experience anyways). The rubbers on the Xbone seem a lot tougher

why. Every game plays better with m+kb, thats a fact. Controllers only limit your range of motion and keybind options and are inferior for every kind of game as opposed to m+kb
>>
>>340987703
Yes, you can use the DS4, DS3, Xbone controller, 360 controller, Wii and Wii U Pro controllers and the GC controller.

I don't know why these threads exist anymore, you can use whatever modern console controller you like.

No budget -> PS4/Xbox One controller
Low budget -> Logitech F310

>>
>>340988016
Some games just feel more intuitive to be played on a controller. You cannot argue with that.

That's the same argument as using "its fun" to justify liking a mechanically shitty game.

Logitech gamepad is a flying abortion with a d-pad that makes the 360's d-pad look good. Not to mention that ass joy stick layout.
>>
Get yourself a wired controller. Considering you're gonna be playing on what I think is your desktop, which will remain on your desk, I don't see any possible benefit of you having a wireless controller other than you being able to hurl the controller across the room as you break your mother's priceless vase, sending her into an endless tirade as she describes every little in discrepancy in your actions these past few months, like not paying for rent or taking her out to eat during Mother's Day, all the while you're looking at your half-full Doritos bag, wondering when the next shipment is coming in (that's right, you order your doritos in bulk), before ultimately coming to the conclusion that maybe you should've gone wired.
>>
I use an Xbone controller for almost everything except Counter Strike. It's been great so far.
>>
>>340988495
Then it's about your personal preference. You can use whatever modern console controller you want and some brands make some good enough USB "retro" controllers. Isn't PC to be about OPTIONS?
>>
ps3 controller

cheap and usable for every game. x360 d-pad and triggers are shit and unusable. ps4 is fine too if you dont mind paying more for some features you wont use.
>>
>>340986338
>le 360 controller is the best meme
don't fall for it, build quality feels way too cheap, dpad is straight awful, triggers get very tiring to use after a while and the sticks start drifting after a month of use
>>
Wii U Pro Controller + Mayflash adapter, because it has a superior D-pad
Otherwise go with the Xbone controller
>>
I like the steam controll
>>
I like the DS4 in general, only flaw in my mind is the analog sticks have a tendency to start peeling after a while but otherwise good feel and works great with a lot of stuff.

I tried the WiiU Pro Controller as well but driver support was ass and even after I got it working noticed some very noticeable input lag with it.

Xbone is an upgrade in every way. I have this picture because there were a lot of lying faggots that said other wise or would shit on the Xbone controller while praising the PS4 controller.

Just get the Xbone controller. It works, no extra programs and its plug 'n play where ever you take it.

Yeah, fuck you, Microsoft. The second was a big factor in me not getting a Steam controller as well, but at least those guys actually include the fucking peripheral rather than trying to nickel and dime you.
>>
>>340986767
You are scum of PC gaming, if I had my way the master race would purge your kind.

There are many games where a controller is much better.

OP, if you want cheap get a wired 360 controller. They work great for almost any game that has controller support. If you're willing to spend, get a wireless xboner.
>>
>>340992634
>have to buy extra kit to be rechargeable

I actually got my Xbone when they were still wired. Then I got the wireless adapter when it came out. About the batteries, I already had rechargeable AA so it wasn't a biggie for me.

>have to buy extra peripheral to sync wirelessly with PC, not compatible with generic bluetooth adapters

Is the original 360 the same? Mine was wired.
>>
>>340992963
Yeah, all the Microsoft controllers require a proprietary adapter. Just kind of bugs me since I can use the DS3/DS4 just fine with my generic bluetooth adapter already on my PC.
>>
>>340992275
I would never in my life pay for an xbone before a PS4, but the controllers are god tier for my hands. I love it on PC.

Fuck microshits controillers. Last 2 I had died in under a fucking year of use, and I didn't even use them all the time, only when emulating or driving. Literally trash and cheap sold for 40 fucking dollars. I kept mine in perfect condition, never fucked with the wire or anything, they're just extremely cheaply made.
>>
I use a Dual Shock 4, and I would tell you to get an Xbox 360 controller. Nearly every game expects you to use the 360 controller, and all the screen prompts will be for that. Having to convert it in my head every time gets old. Fuck MS for reversing the A/B and the X/Y I was used to on the SNES
