Due to the other's incompetence, yes. Sony is taking it really slowly this gen and despite that they still win. They're not even trying, they're giving people what they want, funding a couple of projects here and there but nothing incredible. The thing is that's still enough to destroy the competition.
I'd like to see Microsoft making a comeback this year, they have the money and the structural organization to make the Xbone a serious competitor. If only they stopped with Windows 10/PC bullshit and focused on pumping money into Xbone software they could turn the tables.

Ratchet & Clank PS4 was a surprise game and it was really good. Not the apex of the series but it's definitely in the high tier of the series, especially if you're a long term fan of the series.
If they can make a Crash game with the same love they put into R&C it will be the 2nd golden age of gaming. I also hope for Going Commando Remake on PS4.

Have you played on hard?
PS2 games were harder generally speaking. In the PS3 games and after that, if you properly upgrade your weapons it's not that much of a challenge. In any case R&C was never about being "le hardcore Dark Souls amirite xD" but about a wide variety of weapons, sensory overload, variety in gameplay, exploration, characters and dumb but yet on point humour.
If you want to some challenge start a new challenge mode and get to Rilgar without the helipack. Good luck.
