But think of this logically. Nintendo is under new management. Iwata was friendly, held directs and gave us information on new games, but that in of itself was a mistake. Why? Because when E3 rolled around, they had nothing new to show and nobody cared because they already saw it on the nintendo directs months prior.
By killing the Directs, they allow themselves time to build up hype again, This year they're going to show a bunch of new things that haven't even been revealed to the public LIKE ANY GOOD COMPANY SHOULD instead of playing out their hands and showuing asset pipelines as if they were milestones the way every trash indie developer does.

It could be possible that they'll launch something new. Like a Nintendo Direct website, where they will constantly update with new information from developers. I've noticed Miiverse has started posting these developer interviews, maybe expanding on that to be the one stop shop for Nintendo related information would be the way to go.
