What are some essential mods for Skyrim? Not looking for 4k graphics, I'm fine with 1080. I'd like some mods that would make the world more immerse, more animals, more people, more stuff to explore etc.
Just get Skyrim The Journey and follow the instructions carefully. It'll give you the best experience

It seems to include survival aspect, which I really don't care.

Skyui, better menu interface. No one would recommend against it.

There's one called Interesting NPCs that's pretty great. Adds a ton of voice acted NPCs to the world that will talk to you about legitimately interesting shit, or at least I thought so. The first one I encountered was a necromancer who debated me on the morality of using peoples remains, and then told me necromancy was an art form which led to a brief discussion on the nature of art.
It made the world feel a bit more alive.
requiem can make is somewhat bearable
trying to mod out each individual offender would be too much work otherwise

And it's a shitty one.
