My N3DS broke, I had it replaced. Months later I realised that I can't link my NNID because it's linked to my old system.
Is there anything I can do without creating a new account? I'm having trouble finding a better option.

I actually had this happen to me, OP, well sorta. I lost access to my original Wii U and got a new one.
Call up Nintendo Support and they'll transfer it for you fairly quickly with some basic questions. They're super friendly and sweet so don't worry about any awkwardness.
