Higher. You need to be able to turn quickly. On a mouse, your max turning speed is essentially unlimited, and thus lower sensitivity for higher precision is better. On a console, higher sensitivity is harder control but provides an objective benefit over lower sensitivity.

No, you have to be a special kind of fucked up to be this bad with sticks. I don't understand why anyone has trouble with it. Sure, it's not as accurate as a mouse, but you should be able to play single-player just fine.

The person playing in the .webm must have palsy or something. If you can't take on NPC enemies, you're just fucking bad.
>>
>>340845789 >>340845801
It take a little bit of time to use the sticks. Sometimes people need a good game to really get them into dual stick control. (Pro-tip: The learning game really should have aim assist) Once you find it, after about I'd say two hours of gameplay, you're good to go. I recommend pic related.

I genuinely think that Polygon gave this to a eight year old to review. Which is weird, because I've seen eight year olds who are perfectly fine with the analog sticks.
>>
>>340845801
Dude it's not hard. I can never understand why PC only players have such a hard time. If millions of consolefags do this every day, you can do it. Of course, there's really no reason to on PC because a mouse aim is much better no matter what. I'm just saying that anyone can play PvE with a controller.

The thing of it is, unlike a mouse where you just put the cursor wherever you want it, instantly, you generally aim with a joystick by sweeping the reticle across what you're trying to hit and pulling the trigger at the correct time. Or at least that's what I do. I've been playing console fps for 15 years now and it's worked. That's with and without aim assist in games, just incase anyone wanted to start that argument.

Playing against people using mice when you have sticks, however, is going to get your dick stomped in half.

kb+m is uncomfortable. It's better in terms of utility, but it's extremely uncomfortable to anyone who's used to sitting back with a controller. FPS are the biggest reason I can see to sit forward, at a desk, to use a mouse.

But for anything else, I find it better to sit back with a controller that I can hold in both hands, with all buttons accessible from the grip. I don't like having one hand hovering over the keyboard and the other doing motion control.

Games like RTS and Civ are another story, they basically require a mouse. But you're making a big deal out of using a controller. It feels a hell of a lot more natural to me to grip something that has the controls on it than to put my arms on a desk. I mean, the military flies drones using controllers, not mice.
>>
>>340844704

>>
>>340854285
Yeah but there's no tool to grip. I like having this thing that I pick up, hold, and manipulate. This isn't hard to understand.

It's like anytime someone prefers using a controller, you see it as an attack on PC gaming in general. Just use whatever tool you feel most comfortable with on a per game basis. I'd never play Dark Souls with kb+m, I'd never play a PC shooter with anything but a mouse.
>>

No.

The military uses a HOTAS setup to fly drones (or regular aircraft for that matter). The reason for that is that for controlling aircraft you're best off with a flight stick - not some tiny analogue stick that has barely any deflection range.
>>

>They actually do use 360 controllers in some cases.
No, they generally don't. For testing purposes they might use a variety of input devices, depending on what the developer/engineer decides to use, so as long as they don't yet have real hardware they might hook up some intermediate device which might be a controller or something else (the military obviously uses a wide range of entertainment devices on the market for their purposes), but in general the analogue sticks on controllers are pretty poor for controlling aircraft, simply because they have so little deflection range.

You're supposed to compensate for the difficulty in aiming by moving the left stick in tandem with the right.
>>
>>340855686
Noticeably, people as bad as that Polygon player can't move and aim at the same time. I've seen it regardless of control scheme.
I could understand being bad and going slow, but people who are REALLY bad mostly girls don't even attempt to move and aim together in the first place, and it never works out because there's too much going on to do that.
>>
>>340854685
They use a 360 controller to control a couple types of automated tanks IIRC, and to control the Lazer on that new ion cannon thing. Using a 360 controller on a plane or drone though is unheard of, and for good reason.
