Does anyone else think the driving in this game is just "odd"? It has a weird sense of control, and it seems to rumble every few seconds. I still like the game but it has some of the weirdest driving I've ever seen.
Also I'm interested in your general opinion of this game. I can see why people find it too "movie-like" but I think there's a place for that kind of thing, and I still found this game really compelling.

because of old cars
I LIKE YOUR ASS
The driving was great, it made the cars feel like they were heavy machines made of metal and glass that can be easily broken. I loved it.

Are you playing with framerate not limited to 30? Cars don't work properly above 30, brakes barely work and they skid all over the place.
It's a great game, too bad about the unnecessary open world. I wish I had remembered (or rather, figured out it was just a skip mechanic) about letting the partner drive the car sooner.
I loved L.A. Noire so much.
That is except for these forced shoot out sections.

After the second desk it all goes to shit. Forced my way through it and glad I played but yeah.
Loved the first 2 desks though.

This. I just wish they gave you more option to really fuck a case up by not thinking outside of the box.
Like the one where the dude gets stabbed and then hit by a car. Had you not checked the outside trash cans, it should have been an entire segment where the wife and boyfriend got off scott free while you charge the guy who hit him with murder, instead you can get told to check the scene again.

everything has a weird sense of control in recent rockstar games. for some reason they think tying your physics engine to character movement is a good idea.
>>340845935
if you think theres something wrong with that your a stupid negative fuccboi

LA Noire wasn't developed by rockstar though.

I sound like a casual but I kind of wish it had a GPS-like navigation system. I didn't like just following a blip on the radar, it was annoying because a lot of the roads lead to higher/lower elevations and you ended up going the wrong way. And having your partner direct you every turn was also annoying.
Skipped every driving section. Fuck that.

I fucking remember being drunk off my ass and getting to the part where Phelps is caught cheating on his wife and I thought I somehow fucked up.
Why are investigation scenes always the worst part of every crime game?
The interrogation mechanic was flawed and unclear, the collectibles detract from the game, the story is a bit uneven in some spots and the open world is ridiculously detailed and large given that it's just a giant backdrop without any simulation elements going on within it...
but I absolutely love it, it's unique, it nails its tone and I thank those crazy fucks at Rockstar for dumping millions into some aussie's dream for an adventure game with triple A production values. I also like Mad Men so it helps that almost its entire cast shows up here.

Yeah, the doubt/lie shit was really unclear a lot of times, and it brings in the Phoenix Wright element where you can fuck up a Objection without the opportunity to try again, but you're penalized in such a way that really isn't a penalty.

It's the usual thing that developers keep on doing: summarizing lines of dialog with just one word (or even a handful of them) is completely retarded if it's supposed to matter, and it just makes for infurtiating role playing.

Know that struggle dawg

It started out as "Coax, Force or Lie" and then it turned into "Truth, Doubt or Lie". Makes a lot more sense the first way.
