>Have a burning urge to lead the armies of the world in one of the largest wars in history

Installing Empire Earth and AOC right now, I also have Company of Heroes

Any other RTS games I can command armies during the World Wars, or games where I can simulate the World Wars like EE
>>
There is Hearts of Iron 4 that just came out, you definitely need to check that out.

If you are into fps Red orchestra 2 is great.

For company of heroes check out the Blitzkrieg mod.

Are there any good WW 1 books?
>>
>>340832067
Oh and there is Men of War: Assault Squad 2 that look pretty good it's a COH like
I heard it had pretty bad performance issues though but i don't know.

>Men of War
>CoH Like
Yeah it's nothing like it, it's not even a RTS. Plays completely differently, and in my opinion a lot better.
>>
>>340832426
>Johnny got his gun
>that plot
Damn, sounds fucked up.
>>
>>340832492
My bad, only saw a few videos of it and it looked similar
>>
Company of Heroes 2 for visceral battlefield combat.

Hearts of Iron 4 for leading a whole country through WW2.

Never really played Men of War, the amount of micromanagement you can do in that game looks a bit too autismo for me.

And.... that's about it when it comes to good modern strategy WW2 games (inb4 implications) There are also some oldies but goodies like the Close Combat and Blitzkrieg series I guess.

"The Third World War must be fomented by taking advantage of the differences caused by the "agentur" of the "Illuminati" between the political Zionists and the leaders of Islamic World. The war must be conducted in such a way that Islam (the Moslem Arabic World) and political Zionism (the State of Israel) mutually destroy each other. Meanwhile the other nations, once more divided on this issue will be constrained to fight to the point of complete physical, moral, spiritual and economical exhaustion…We shall unleash the Nihilists and the atheists, and we shall provoke a formidable social cataclysm which in all its horror will show clearly to the nations the effect of absolute atheism, origin of savagery and of the most bloody turmoil. Then everywhere, the citizens, obliged to defend themselves against the world minority of revolutionaries, will exterminate those destroyers of civilization, and the multitude, disillusioned with Christianity, whose deistic spirits will from that moment be without compass or direction, anxious for an ideal, but without knowing where to render its adoration, will receive the true light through the universal manifestation of the pure doctrine of Lucifer, brought finally out in the public view. This manifestation will result from the general reactionary movement which will follow the destruction of Christianity and atheism, both conquered and exterminated at the same time." 4

The Thule Society (/ˈθjuːliː/; German: Thule-Gesellschaft), originally the Studiengruppe für germanisches Altertum ("Study Group for Germanic Antiquity"), was a German occultist and völkisch group in Munich, named after a mythical northern country from Greek legend. The Society is notable chiefly as the organization that sponsored the Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (DAP; German Workers' Party), which was later reorganized by Adolf Hitler into the National Socialist German Workers' Party (NSDAP or Nazi Party).

How about some games like Empire Earth of Civ where I can build up to the industrial-atomic ages and pretend I'm the polish or something fighting a rebellion inside heavily occupied france or pretend I'm leading italian blackshirts into North Africa

In Stahlgewittern comes to mind, about Ernst Jünger's service in the Imperial German Army during the First World War.

More games need to have the African campaign.
>>
>>340833198

Well... if that scratches your WW1/2 itch no one can tell you otherwise. But for me the portion of the game that represents 30s-40s technology and warfare is far too small.
>>
>>340833198
That is a tough one, I'd say pretty much empire earth II. EEIII was a horrific cancer that should have been purged

I can't get my copy of EE3 to run stable no matter what

I think the game was released literally broken and actually never got fixed

EE2 is pretty fun though, I like the territory capture system and the warplanning

I just bought Hearts of Iron 4, proba broken game play wise but I'm gonna enjoy the shit out of it

My old Laptop I tried it on had a Radeon 5000 series mobility and an i3 I believe, not sure on the cpu 2bh

Problem was it was laggy as fuck even at the menu and I couldn't find any fix and I was pretty sure my specs were up to it
>>
>>340835880
wow, i remember seeing it on a laptop with an i3 once. Everything was ok, until ships went out to sea and would randomly sink. Crashing the game with those black hole things was also pretty cool though
>>
I'm seconding All Quiet on the Western Front for WWI books.

Also any of the /gsg/ games are fun 'historical' strategy games. Not purely RTS but they're fun.

If you wanna dip into World War 1, I'd definitely recommend listening to Dan Carlin's Hardcore History series on it.

And after, get into his Mongols series. The mongols were so insane, I still can't believe the shit they got into.
