Complete trash, high level bots kill me 1v1. I cant even beat seth on hard difficulty in sf4 single player. Online is instant lose. Spent an hour practicing hadukens/shoryukens, still fucked them up 60% of the times. I end up jumping half the time i haduken, instant anti air kills me.
It takes hours just to be able to play fighting games, like just to use the fucking controls. Nevermind learning spacing and speed of attacks.
Unlike most fighting players, I dont have friends who are shit to have fun and practice with, so it would just be a 20 hour grind of combos/range of attacks in practice mod untill i can even begin to win online fights.
I can play every other competitive game there is, but fighting games is such a fucking grind just to be able to ACTUALLY PLAY THE GAME.
This coming from a 4k mmr dota 2 player while being eagle in csgo, I also played starcraft brood wars/quake really well back in the day. Fuck fighting games

Just think of combos in MK like target combos in Street Fighter. The game is very juggle heavy like Tekken, so most of your combos will incorporate juggles in some way, so that's one big difference from SF.
Check out testyourmight.com if you haven't already. There are a lot of system/character guides on there.
Scorpion would be a good character to learn the basics with, especially with the Ninjutsu variation.

The worst thing is that bots only set you up to fail vs actual players, the more you play vs bots the worse you get vs players. Rts/fps/mobas the bots are actually really good to learn game mechanics on, eg:aiming, nade spots, rts builds, cs'ing in dota, etc. Bots in fighting games do not help worth a fucking shit to learn the game, all they do is teach you bad habits and making learning combos 10x harder. Either you have a retard friend to help you practice together or your fucked to playing vs a literal target dummy for 20 hours.

If your up for it I would say just play the most vanilla character in whatever game your playing, eg ryu in sf4, then do drills on the target dummy. Like this
100 Hadukens slow medium fast speed in that order
100 shoryukens
100 low kick medium punch combo
etc
Literally just learn the most basic shit until you can do it 100 times perfect in a row (or like 95%) then just play online and lose over and over till the game places you with other shitters. After you can at least beat shitters without using any fancy combos, learn a combo 10 times before starting another match. Its a very very long process though, but that is the fastest way to git gut. Playing vs bots is pointless

what the ironic thing for me is that I have a good memory, I can remember long combos. I remember brutalities from MK trilogy, most of the old 10 it combos in tekken, plus kings grab combos. but I am too fast at putting them in, so timing is an issue.
Now the only fighting games I play is MKX with a friend.

it isn't always about pressing them quick enough it is about timing. to get super cancels off correct you cant miss a button press or press an extra button, so perfect timing and remembering the moves.
It takes practice, so you have to go to practice.

I can do most of kings grab combos flawlessly (death cradle and chicken wing are rare for me) I rek people at tekken tag and I don't use tag crash at all.

I play SF III 3S in my local arcade at least once per week with a bunch of regulars and random that come from time to time.
I always try to do crazy shit like parrying complete combinations, trying crazy combos, doing doppelgänger matches, anything as long as the fight is entertainment I don't give a shit about the rest.
I do give tourneyfags a run for their money, often winning a fair amount of matches, but I lose spirit easily because that people just don't want a fun fight, they just want to win and worry about tiers and shit, also boring people that play only shotos / one character or are way too predictable, it just isn't funny with them.

Decent at Soul Calibur 2 and 3, never found anyone willing to play Deception with me, so probably not that great.
Also, I can't get anywhere on MK2 except by spamming Baraka's specials, and that only works against the first 2 guys with like a 50% success rate, so not great at that.

MK is 'somewhat' juggle heavy but Tekken is not. The former has serious issues with a disgusting amount of 50/50's that lead INTO juggles, the latter needs very good spacing/sidestep skills and knowing character quirks. Juggles may lead to a lot of damage but they're just the afterthought.

it's not about difficulty that was something i was being creative about finding what i could squeeze out of kaz/king, and the isw is the only difficult part but be honest there are people who can't even electric consistently in a row. I play 7 and just use tag 2 as training so i don't fuck around with teams (I got in the series with playing 7). To make it maximum hard to can add a jab from king but to add the jab require ssing on axis and dashing during the tag.
