The story isn't really that great in the sense that their love is "true," it's more what their relationship symbolizes. FFX is a game of symbols, not characters/events. The whole sun/moon and being from different "worlds" is more important than any actual personal connection they have. That being said, the relationship itself is mediocre-at-worst. It saddens me that gaming culture has become so self-destructive it's outright cannibalistic.

The game was remade by some other studio. It's the same game when you just look at it but pretty much everything was redrawn, re-modeled, and possibly re-animated. The textures wouldn't fit the models and I HIGHLY doubt anyone will put it new models and rig them up. That would be a serious modding effort.
And it might not even fix it because it seems to me that the animations in the faces are different.
