I think the first one gets a bad rap. It was definitely over hyped but I didn't think it was a bad game. I actually enjoyed the game quite a bit. From the gameplay we've seen of watch dogs 2, it seems to improve upon the mechanics present in the first, while adding a lot more. Parkour is more fast paced and flashy, hacking is a lot more in-depth as you can hack EVERY person and every car and hack and shoot while driving and hack other cars while driving. Steering cars are a bit more arcadey and easier to control and there's probably a bunch more we don't know about. Graphics are descent, but aren't unrealistically amazing like the reveal of the first game. This seems to be shaping up like AC2 in witch it improved a lot over AC1. But we'll just have to wait for the release.

Ill be giving it a go. The first one was experimental and certainly had its flaws but hopefully theyve polished that up and learnt from their mistakes.
I get very dissapointed in the way ubisoft markets their game only to later reduce its graphics, it feels like a dirty way of building hype. Most of their games also bore me but i like the theme watchdogs brings to the table. Ubisoft have a bad rep for a reason but in the case of /v/ it mostly just comes down to "its cool to hate ubisoft." This board will never allow them to try and correct the errors of their past but in the end its down to the gamer themself to approach these things with a lack of bias.
If your not sure yourself, just let it sit for a bit and watch both positive and negative reviews after its release. Also see if you can find a way to test it out before purchasing it. I can usually determine if a game is not to my taste within an hour or two of my first experience

The first one was a total wreck on my 7770, and still would barely run on my 270X. I tried it again with my 970 and it runs, but now I can clearly see that the game is bland and badly made. So no, this will not be a franchise I want to invest energy or money into. They know how to do good third-person action adventure titles sometimes, but Watch Dogs is not one of them. The fact that the last time anyone was actually excited for a third-person title by Ubisoft was Black Flag says that maybe you should just make games about fighting shit on the open seas. I'd totally play a game about that guy that steals back freighter ships and stuff in an Assassin's Creed style game.

I bought the first game last week for my 360, and it's surprisingly fun. Got it for free, so that may affect how I view it, but the way you can change things on the map is pretty cool.
Didn't care enough about the first game to do that, the fact that the main character is a bix nood WE WUZ HACKERS nigger only drives my motivation into the negatives.

I will, it is exactly the kind of game that I enjoy playing; plenty of exploration, driving cars around a virtual city, play missions in the order I choose, play different missions depending on mood, choose to stealth or shoot depending on how I feel.
When it's on sale for £10 I will snap it up.
