Have you seen the Evangelion movies?
They're like pseudo remakes of the show but in movie format with higher quality animation/art. Cuts out the filler stuff and takes the story down a better path (in Eva's case, since the show lost its way).
These Berserk movies seem to be doing this (minus the change in story direction). The CGI on their armor is sort of weird at first but overall the art is pretty high quality and combat is visceral. I enjoyed all 3 films and hope they make another 3 that cover the following arc.
Nothing like dudes getting cleaved in half.
Also features music by Susumu Hirasawa which is pretty fun. Loved his work in Paprika, instantly recognized it in the movie's theme.

It's shounen, so a degree of MOTW is to be expected, but Part 4 isn't that heavy on it at all compared to what you might expect, and a lot of the fights are really fun, only the first few stood put to me as being boring. It mostly stays that way until mid Part 7, with the exception of Part 5 which is full on monster of the week, but it starts to become much more character and story focused at mid Part 7, and so far that's how Part 8 has been as well.
It sounds to me like you just don't like what JJBA is in concept, because what it sets out to do, it executes quite well, and it's very creative and unique too, giving it a reason to read it rather than other mangas like it. Ifnyou want, you coukd try reading Part 7. I usually wouldn't recommend skipping parts, but Part 7 doesn't require you to read anything before it, and once you get passed the shitty start, it may actually appeal to you.
