Let me tell you a story anon.
Some time ago around the year 1990 a bunch of people decided to take the aestethichs of the '80s but run with them seriously and to the extreme. In the '80s it was cool to be laid back and 'too cool for school' and wearing scrappy clothes and having a punk style was about showing how much you don't care. This made sense to most normies, even the older/younger ones. In the '90s a completely alien culture emerged which was about taking yourself very seriously and thinking that it's cool. This is objectively correct of course but has one major flaw, if someone that isn't part of this culture comes along and says he disagrees or doesn't like it you have to actually provide arguments to defend your style. Whereas before you could just say "Meh we're just playing around, we don't REALLY care about what we do as long as people think it's cool". So this created a culture that is very of it's time because you can't even pretend to ironically like it as that would be against the point.
So naturally come the 2000s and the newer generations wanted their own thing and the '90s stuff became what is now known as 'edgy'. And because of the afore mentioned flaw there is no easy way to defend 'edgy' because you have to provide actual arguments. So the heavy metal of the 70-80 is "classic" but the industrial and goth metal of the 90s is 'try hard edgy'.
Coming back to the elves. The elves were cool in the 90s so they have 'edgy' designs aka they are too ideal they are immortal, beautiful, graceful, intelligent and pretty much perfect. So yeah other races are shit compared to them but because you can call them 'edgy' it's impossible to defend them and if you like them you're a 15yo faggot. Even though most actual teens would probably avoid them or say that they only like them "ironically" which is nonsensical as explained above..
