There is a PM local near me that consistently gets 40-50 entrants. Smash n' Splash this weekend is the 8th largest PM event of all time. Very much still alive.

It's had better days but the scene is pretty consistent in most areas. We still have like 2 weeklies in my city, not counting the Melee one that has PM on the side.

SDremix does (or did) netplay tournies too. I hoped 20xx's including it would help it get a scene somewhere but it seems the same as ever.
