Oddly enough, I'm not sure if my favorite line is voice acted because it's from Chain of Memories for GBA. Dunno if they voiced the clip in the Remix versions, but it's after the final fight you have with Clone Riku in Riku's story. You kill him and as Clone Riku's fading away, he asks "Where will my heart go? Will it just disappear?" Real Riku responds: "It will go somewhere. Maybe to the same place as mine."

Get a PS3 and a 3DS.
Get 1.5 and 2.5 for the PS3 (dirt cheap by now) and buy/download DDD for 3DS and Chain of Memories for the Virtual Console (you have to hack the 3DS, but it's shit easy now, like a PSP).
Then go chronologically. If you want to play any of the movies, get an R4: one of them is the worst KH in gameplay and the other is very decent, but bland.
If you don't want to buy a 3DS, then play RE:CoM, but it's not nearly as good as the GBA version, and you will fucking hate it.

What do you mean by that? I didn't imply that, I think. Is it about me thinking strongly about the original CoM? Okay, maybe I exaggerated about "awful", but I'm pretty sure all of the complains about CoM being "clunky" or "grindy" come from people that played the remake.
The encounter based system (also, making the areas bigger makes the game a tad slower) and mapping of the game is awkward outside of GBA's technical limitations, it loses a lot of detail going from sprite based portraits and models to KH model copypasting (and the dub doesn't help much either). I don't know, RE doesn't feel good to me, while I hold CoM in a really high regard in the KH series.

If you're talking about KH, the games tend to rely on foreshadowing and call backs to other games in the series so that's a big reason why people are telling you release order. For example, some of the characters in Days make references to things that happened in Birth By Sleep. Birth by Sleep is 10 years before KH1 but came out after Days. And some of the games overlap in timeline/take place at the same time. A notable example of this is KH1, Chain of Memories, and Days.
If someone wanted to do a strict chronological order for this series, they'd be jumping around a bit.
