2 is a bit bland. Only a couple new gadgets that feel tacked on and have very specific uses. Levels are designed to be "world locations" which is a bit too generic for Ape Escape, they don't have the original composer so the OST doesn't stand as well, etc.
3 is fantastic though. Adds a transformation system which gives you completely new playing styles and toolsets at the cost of losing standard gadgets for a short duration. Levels are designed to be "parodies of movies" and are bursting with charm. The original composer returned, so the soundtrack is right up there with the original.Also cute playable loli

Nothing new.
The first 3 games had the best formula.
A hub/areas with their own theme/Apes in various situations/great lvl and exploration/funny gadgets... No boring cut-scenes/cinematic experience. And games always took benefit from DualShock, so some DS4 features would be cool.
I just don't know why Sony let this IP died like that. For me, Ape Escape is to Playstaion what Mario is to Nintendo, far more than any Crash Bandicoot games..
