Turner is our Michael, he's a criminal with a bad past, most likely the one of the three of them to have a real family.
Cathal is Trevor, wild, unpredictable, probably has lots of wacky interactions with Turner. They're gonna play up his accent to all hell.
Chayton is our Franklin for three reasons:
1.The one minority of the three.
2.Probably gonna be the least morally reprehensible one despite being a criminal.

The lack of people knowing how to read and write and record this unbiasedly AND preserve this is obviously not going to be 100%. I try to get into 1st crusade, Almohhad, Scottish, HRE or Byzantine History, and it relies far less on nations and far more on individual statuses. Half these people have very little data on them so you're constantly going to obscure forums and watching 25 year old lithuanian documentaries that mention what you need to know in passing to get a clear idea of what the fuck is going on.

The advent of the internet is the only time in history that everything has been documented and archived, so by that logic we hardly know anything about anything that happened before the 20th century.

This didn't magically stop after 1400. Nation states weren't a thing until the rise of nationalism in the 19th century. Kingdoms were still very much ruled by dynasties until then, with the most famous dynasty in history, the Hasburgs, reaching the peak of their power in the 16th century.

This diminished rapidly once Western Europe began trading closely with Asia. Everything expanded and a single King who once ruled a population of 500,000 now had to manage a growing Empire. Any wrong move and you're fucked. The English King lost most power in the civil war, French had the revolution, HRE lost influence and the Emperor lost favour with the pope.

What matters is that there were less of one made, and they're older, so it's redundant to point out that there is less historical documentation of something older, why wouldn't there be? But there is still a very large amount of information we know about power struggles, regime changes, and border changes, among many other facets of these peoples' lives that you seem to just be disregarding.
