Why are they intentionally mimicking the dumb parts of Sonic's downfall? Will the next game have incomplete physics? Maybe a dumb team system that adds nothing good to the formula?
All jokes aside however, my one hope for FP2 is that they remove some of the more blatant Sonic rip-off elements like loop-de-loops. Since FP is nowhere near as physics centric as Genesis Sonic is, the loop-de-loops feel out of place. They offer nothing meaningful to the game other than a big "LOOK AT US, THIS USED TO BE A SONIC FANGAME" which is just tacky to me. The franchise can survive on it's own merits now.
So long as Carol isn't underpowered compared to Lilac's bullshit, and they hire an editor for the adventure mode, I'm game. I'll still miss Milla's reverse coat, though.

That's the exact problem. The promise of free DLC also applies to Steam users who may have purchased the game even on this exact day (so sayeth the Kickstarter page). I don't think Steam can even offer an entire new .exe/game for free if you own another game.
They COULD do it the same way as how Wayforward gave out free copies of Mighty Switch Force Academy to people who got it for free by accident (just provide proof via email, and they send you a key), but that would be really tedious I would imagine.
