Uncharted 4 is no more than a 6/10. I don't get how people can hype it up so hard when it's worse than its predecessors in every way except graphics. The combat in Uncharted 4 was dreadful and I tried to stealth my way past most encounters because of how tedious they were.

The kind of mentality scores brings about is why I'm honestly 100% in favor of any scoring system that has less numbers to putz around in. My ideal one is a buy/rent/pass one if not just ignoring the number at the end outright.

Scores are click bait, they're the lifeblood of the review industry. The problem is that video game reviewers have no idea how to utilize them. The music review industry has though. Pitchfork, Scaruffi, Fantano, etc have balanced their scales in a way that drums up attention when they give very high or very low scores. When Pitchfork gives something a ten, it infects music listeners, whether they agree with it or not it's all they'll be talking about for weeks. When IGN gives something a ten, it means nothing.
