So I'm going to be picking up one of these bad boys tomorrow afternoon for around 70 bucks, brand new in box.
What are some games I should look at getting for it.
My current list of games I'm planning on getting is:

i actually think cd-rs work, but I use DVD-r. OR the harddrive. it SOUNDS hard but its easy. it also emulates arcade and older consoles, even a bit of ps1 and n64!

I've heard the capacitors in those aren't as bad.
Capcitor from mine isn't removed as none of the seals are broken for the screws. SYstem still works, I do not have the required bits to fit the screws, but my step-dad is a mechanic so he probably has them. I'll have to ask and borrow them.
Mine is 2001 I think. I really hope the acid isn't too bad. I mean the system still works

Outrun 2 is Xbox exclusive and an amazing arcade racing game.
Outrun 2006 came out later on PS2/Xbox/PSP/PC, and it adds a shitton more content but the mechanics are changed slightly and a little of the bonus content is removed.
Get them both.

I feel bad for getting so much out of it and not having a physical copy (but it is Jap only). And I mean I know it's on PS2 and DC but having a non-emulated shmup on the Xbox was cool (obviously this was before somebody got bored and gave like Cave and whatnot free dev kits like with the 360 or whatever the fuck happened there) and I enjoyed the buzz mechanic.

Speaking of exclusives Deaththrow is pretty good. And Top Spin. Had some serious hours put into Top Spin as it was just comfy yet competitive as fuck especially in multiplayer.
