Nah, Nintendo shouldn't go after an audience they've already secured on a different platform. It's destroying the franchise's reliable source of income. Regardless of what Nintendo has planned, they shouldn't do that. When you look at what's profitable on smartphones it's clinging onto whatever is out there but with a popular IP and a higher budget so that you can play just a tad longer without paying than its competitors. Alienating the audience that buys games guaranteed at 40 bucks a pop? excluding hardware profits? damn, you'd be stupid to make a smartphone game that's not a carbon copy of an existing smartphone game.
