I did not really get into console wars back then, although I was on gaming message boards, but where did the Sega fanboys go after the Dreamcast? I imagine the Sonic fags got GameCubes, while the fans of Sega's other IPs got PS2s and or Xbox (specially since this console Jet Set 2, Panzer Dragoon 3, Toe Jam & Earl 3, and Shenmue 2).
However, I don't hear anyone talk about their Sega fandom any more. Did they all just leave gaming or become retro guys?

It seems Sega fans fall under two camps:
1. Sonic fags
2. Actual Sega fans (fans of non-Sonic IPs that were on the Genesis and Dreamcast).
With the latter, the only ones that were still around were Shenmue fans. I don't hear anyone talk about any other of Sega's IPs anymore.
Pretty sure they all left gaming, or realized that Nintendo games were superior all along.

Most Sega fans I run into are pretty chill and, ironically considering what Sega used to be, pretty above the whole "Console War" thing and just like video games regardless of where they come from.
Its been a slow few years but things aren't terrible for us these days:
>Sonic had a run of some great games until Boom came along, hints at the 25th anniversary game have been hopeful at least. The fact that the brand is still popular through twitter and kind of accepts its own faults is refreshing.
>Yakuza on the rise, starting to get a bit more consistent in bringing them to the west
>Shenmue 3 being real now is a surreal experience.
>Couple different Wonderboy/Mosterworld stuff in development, even if Sega isn't directly involved.
>New ToeJam and Earl looks neat
>Don't really get the whole vocaloid thing but its a money maker for them so it helps fund other stuff, hard to complain there.

Sega's output isn't too bad these days yeah, I just wish they would make a good Phantasy Star game again or at least fire the people responsible for PSO2's current state.

Sega and Nintendo being friendly is the best thing that could have happened for them. We got great stuff like F-Zero GX out of it, plus like 3 different SEGA IPs repping in Smash Bros. I like that Sonic seems to be a mainstay, being the only 3rd party character to return. Hope we get a true VS game someday.

Apparently the deal with PSo2 is that they made some deal with a Chinese publisher and that somehow prohibits them from bringing it over, so SoA is just stuck in an awkward position of not knowing what to say about it. Its super lame.

I grew up with an NES and a Genesis, but Sega was always my favorite. I'm an idort now like I always was. Sega holds a special place in my heart but modern Sega is awful and full of fuck-ups.
