They fucked up multiverse theory. If you kill Booker in one universe then there will be one in which you don't kill him making the entire story pointless as this is all one big cycle that will keep going round and round.

>Abysmal story,
assertions are easy to make
expound on your reasoning
The game ironically went with the opposite direction to make it's moral and bait and switch. The whole point of the game was that no matter what decision you made it didn't matter as the end result is always the same.
Except, what actual decisions do you actually make in the game? You really only get three early on and then it abruptly stops. The game as a whole was a sign of the devs running out or cutting of something. Maybe they ran out of time or money or maybe they had to cut half of the content they wanted but it shows you can just tell there was supposed to be more to make the game work but released this instead and while it's a "complete" game by definition you can just know large details are missing that are meant to make the game work.
Why did Elizabeth kill Booker at the end? Shouldn't she have gone back in time and kill Booker just before he was baptized?
Also: losing finger in a time portal makes you a time god?

But that was literally the story you retard

Boring weapon variety
>this game did theoretical physics incorrectly
>but i have no problem with this clearly absurd "genetic engineering", allowing me to shoot crows and fireballs at people
of the two branches of science that is more forgiveable to bastardise for the sake of science fiction, quantum physics is much more pliable and unknown than genetics
>>340575527
>Also: losing finger in a time portal makes you a time god?
it's just the rules of the game's fiction
i've never been bothered to truly check every nook and cranny, i'd love to see how consistent the whole shebang is from start to finish
that said, i feel like the emotional impact of the game's ending was hampered by being telegraphed too heavily and also because it was dependent on some niche, not explicitly explained element of the fictional logic the game operates under
>>340573018
"Interactive" movie
Also that really awkward scene where Booker plays a guitar and Elizabeth starts singing
I actually just beat this last night.
Half the vigors you get are pointless, except for one time usage. Posession and shock jockey are the best ones. Also, the game makes upgrading vigors super expensive, so I just upgraded guns instead. The clothing system was good though.
Having to go stealthy at the end of the game for those two rooms when you've been guns blazing the whole game is dumb. Fuck that stupid big eared motherfucker
Also, you can't really understand the whole scope of the story without reading a bunch of wiki shit.
Overall, 8.5/10. Had fun blasting people in the face with my shotgun.

Anon, I have some news for you:
The story in this game is shit
>>340576235
Best vigor was the Force push one. You got it so late in the game. They didn't want people to have fun I guess
>>340575637
The plot twist fucked the story meaning that everything you have done is pointless. The safest thing to do in that situation would be to keep that specific Booker alive to shake up the cycle and possibly break it.

Oh okay:
>The Chen gunmaker storyline takes up a third of the game but is a complete waste of time. It's solved by Elizabeth just randomly finding a new universe
>Also, all the universe hopping means that none of what they are doing matters. She could just find a universe where everyone is happy and wants her to go to Paris
>Booker and Comstock are not remotely alike, it's stupid to say they're the same
>Ken Levine said he didn't understand quantum physics. The idea that drowning one Booker kills them all makes no sense.
>"There's always a lighting/man/city" - sometimes it's the same man and city, sometimes it's different.
>Wasted potential for racial themes, anti-economic elitism etc
>General poor writing.
Story wasn't greatBut I enjoyed the gameplay, it was fun skyhooking around the place and taking everyone out.
Even beat it on 1999 mode.

Are you the one nigger on /v/ that doesn't watch Matthewmatosis? He did an indepth break down of how Bioshock Infinite's story makes no sense at all.
Also when I say break the cycle, I mean that since this one specific Booker is made aware of other universes. He can use Elizabeth's ablitys to stop this from happening in other universe causing a ripple effect in the time space continuum.

Not that Anon, but here's a rambling post about my gripes with Infinite's narrative and story;
In my opinion, the story was interesting. Not fantastic or anything, but decent. The multiverse reveal was convoluted but had some merit. I think the thing that saved the story from "Not Good" was the presence of the Luteces. While I'm certain some people found them fucking insufferable, I loved them and the conversations that made more sense the more you knew about the story. I'm neutral about the multiverse thing when all is said and done.
What really hurt the story was the fact that Booker (in both protagonist and antagonist form) resolved everything by shooting everyone, forever, just move forward and shoot. You did this in Bioshock as well, but there you interacted with Antagonists and Neutral parties a lot more often. You could pretend there was more nuance than a murder spree. Plus everyone in Rapture was fucking bonkers.
There were hardly any really memorable antagonists that aligned with Infinite's theme, like how the insane Doctor Stienman and Sander Cohen so passionately pursued perfection of their craft they were willing to resort to any means necessary, a very extremely focused Rapturian (Libertarian) value.
In Infinite this should have spawned Antagonists who pursued either Nationalistic or Religious values and took them to their extremes. These did seem to be in the game at one point, the insane mayor in one of the early trailers comes to mind, but it seems like they cut it out of the game for whatever reason.
Abhorrent story
Intolerable characters
Tedious combat
Bullshit endings
Plasmids have no reason to exist
Pick five
>>340573018
It isn't a BioShock game
I think it's funny how people are so desperate to call this game high art when it is also a game that has you murdering hundreds upon hundreds of people and shooting electricity and crows out of your hands.

good reply, not the guy you were talking to but seeing as he didnt have anything to say means he was BTFO
It's not fun to play
The story is mediocre at best, awful at worst
An upgrade system in a game where you can only hold two weapons
The ghost boss fight being fought like 4 times
The skyrails being stupidly underutilized despite being the only part of the combat system that's sort of fun
Only like 4 enemy types
>>340575527
>Shouldn't she have gone back in time and kill Booker just before he was baptized?

>>340577905
>The original concept for the skyhook was cooler
what was it
Copypasted NPCs within five feet of each other.
I could list countless other flaws describing how Bioshock Infinite is a mediore, incredibly disappointing game - but I feel like that one flaw really encapsulates all of them. The devs were so immensely lazy that they blatantly copypasted npcs within a few feet of each other. They simply didn't care about quality, they knew the game would get 10/10s by virtue of the Bioshock name.
>>340573018
The story made no sense, even within it's own bullshit rules. Killing Booker before he becomes Comstock? That won't do anything because you'll just be creating more universes where you didn't kill him.
The characters left little to no impression on me, I have a hard time remembering anyone that isn't Booker, Comstock, Liz, and the exposition twins.
The gameplay was pretty boring, especially compared to the original two. It was in an awkward place between being something faithful and something original and it felt like it didn't want to commit to a decision for the sake of brand recognition. A two weapon limit would have worked if the game had a universal ammo system, but it didn't. The Vigors barely seem to serve a purpose, in both narrative and gameplay. A few of the 8 (eight) Vigors you get seem to overlap in functionality. There were times where it didn't really matter what Vigor you chose for what situation, only that it did damage when you needed it to. In Bioshock, these were more acceptable because you had more Plasmids to choose from. Oh, and bullet sponge enemies.
The level design felt surprisingly claustrophobic and linear compared to the last two, especially considering the first two took place under the ocean, and Infinite took place in the fucking SKY.
Why doesn't Booker take any measures to cover the scar on his hand that marks him as this city's antichrist?
Why does Booker just walk around without trying to hide himself despite the cops explicitly hunting him and Elizabeth down?
Why do none of the citizens notice the antichrist and Elizabeth are just kind of walking around until shit goes tits up in that part of the game?
Why does the city keep on going on as usual despite there being a terrorist shooting up everything?
Why are there parts of the giant floating city in the sky that is lacking handrails?
Why does Elizabeth's mom become a physics ghost?
Why does future Elizabeth attack New York City and then immediately send Booker back in time so he can stop her from attacking New York City?
Why do the Vox Populi turn from all black people to all Irish people?

The best vigor was in fact the ram charge one upgraded. After maxing vigor out you could charge in and be invul for a few seconds to shoot and use it again and perma tank anything you want.
Not the funnest gameplay but its the best because its the strongest with no weakness.
