I'm still not sure whether to buy one of these or a Deathadder Chroma.

I've heard people complain that the scroll wheel on the g502 is shit, but my last razer mouse, a naga epic started doubleclicking after a couple years, so I had to throw it out.

The g300s is pretty good and half the price.
>>
>>340562232
I have the Chroma and it works perfectly fine. It's a no frills mouse and it's pretty comfortable.
Also it has a really long cable, which is nice if you're like me and your computer is on the floor like 4 ft away because you ran out of desk space.
>>
>>340561998

Yup the G500 unfortunately mine broke and they stopped making them so I went with the G402 because the G502 looks wonky a fuck.
>>
>>340561998
I have one and my biggest issue is that the scroll wheel is polished metal, not rubber, meaning that if you have dry hands your finger will slip on it rather than gaining the friction necessary to spin it.

I used to have a g100s and after 6 months it started double clicking, do like a retard I decided to give Logitech more money and get a g502

And it was great, I've been using it for a year and I love it. The sensor is great, I like being able to switch profiles on the fly (alt tab after a match of Overwatch, one click and I'm in my profile for Chrome). The extra buttons are also pretty well positioned, in every other mouse with more buttons I saw they looked kinda cramped and hard to use, like the Naga. They are so in the perfect pressure spot for me, not too easy to press but not as hard as the Corsair M5

My only issue is that it's kinda hard to clean, I have very sweaty hands so every week I have to scrub it.

Still using one of these after about 7 years. Best damn mouse I've ever used.

That said, the soft rubber has mostly worn off, so I should probably get a new one. I'm probably going to stick with Logitech just because I'm already using their software for my keyboard, and I'd hate to have to install a separate program for the mouse.

logitech g302 has a spring tensioning system that is speicifcally supposed to prevent double clicking.

mine has started double clicking.

I had a Steelseries Sensei but one day the scrollwheel started to act wonky by doing stuff like scrolling upwards when I tried to scroll down so I bought a G502, I still can't get used to the weird shape it has.
>>
>>340565937
Someone paid you $10 to take their mouse?
>>
>>340566021
g302 isn't for the same type of grip as sensei. take it back and get g502.
>>
>>340561998
What exactly makes that mouse great? I'm using a $20 Chinese mouse and it has served me perfect in both games and photoshop for a decade. It's only fault is that the wheel occasionally gets crazy, but I found that I can just solder in a replacement sensor (something like 5$ for a ten-pack of sensors on Alibaba).

I'm seriously wondering if I'm actually missing something or not.
>>
>>340562232
Are you fucking kidding me? The scroll wheel on the G502 is the best scroll wheel on any popular mouse on the market. Many people love it solely because of the wheel's ability to unlock.

That being said, I wish it didn't have the stupid "wing" thing on the left and instead had a grip exactly like the G400. I actually think the G400 was more comfortable in general, being bigger and all.
>>
Don't buy logitech, their mice used to be good I believe but their quality isn't good these days.

Just upgraded to zowie from >>340565671
(except the newer version, I used that same mouse for years and insisted on getting the same one)

Spoiler, I fucked regretted it.

Buy a high quality optical mouse. My new zowie (z11) seriously feels amazing and would recommend. Scroll wheel is meh but everything else is literally perfect.
>>
>>340566424
pic related is the mouse I'm using. Laser sensor up to 3000dpi, total 7 buttons to press, has a software that allows setting any buttonpress or function or keypress or macro to any button. I have one of the buttons set as Ctrl, one to change DPI (useful if I need to change mouse speed when doing stuff in photoshop), and one button is set as a macro to repeat left click every 64ms as I hold it down.

Only hardware problem is the sensor issue I mentioned, but I can replace those easy.

Oh and the paintjob has worn off, but who cares about that.

Not trolling or anything, but I'm seriously wondering, what makes a mouse good/better? Am I missing out on something or not?

I was wrong actually, I have a g402. I still don't really get how to grip it properly, it also has some weird lines with a bit of bump to them on the left side.

I did read that it's possible that the Sensei's scrollwheel can be fixed by opening it and cleaning it up, I might try that later.

502 is the best on paper, at least as of 7 or 8 months ago.
The metal scroll isn't for everyone though, nor is the 'gamur' styling, something logitech used to be good about.
Personally I just got a 600 because 'MUH BUTTONS' and I didn't really care about hardware acceleration.
Razor is utter dogshit, you're paying for marketing & flashy GAMUR design.
Anything with fewer than 8 buttons is missing out on so much fucking utility, especially if it can't into macros.
Shit's cash- play EYE without the action wheel, arma without stretching for awkward, random keys. Whatever you do, get something with some fucking buttons.

Great mouse, the thumb rest is comfy, buttons feel nice, 8 extra programmable buttons, you can write scripts for it, and two of the buttons are just left of the left click (similiar to OP)

Why exactly?
also it technically has 3600 dpi max but I don't see how that is of any use. I just have it set to 1600 with the second middle button used to cycle DPI modes, sometimes I use the lower DPI when I need the mouse to move slower (useful in photoshop).
>>
I just got an M65 Pro, really nice mouse so far, I'll have to use it for a while long to see if the coating is better than the FK, which started chipping after like, 5 months. The only thing I hate about is all the fucking lights.
>>
>>340569319
Never happens, since they're *thumb* buttons, the trigger strength is high enough that moving the mouse isn't nearly enough to trip them but they're still easy to click when you want to.

Also, the 600 was much better than the razor adders or whatever the fuck it competed with- keys are shaped & spaced so you can pick them out easily, unlike the flat, grid-like shit razor offered.

The logitech software for assigning control schemes just barely works unfortunately, but it IS manageable.
>>
>>340569424
let me provide an example of why zowie is the only manufacturer you should buy from

recently zowie tested a new line of mice with lighter omron switches instead of the typical stiffer huanos that most of their mice use

after a month or so at retail, zowie found out that people in hotter climates were experiencing occasional doubleclicking issues due to how light the omron switches were in the thick zowie shells when they would be more pliable in the heat

zowie recalled all of the omron mice with compensation at a massive loss to redesign them and put huanos back into that line of mice

meanwhile 3/4ths of logitech mice have acceleration or smoothing issues, some of them have disconnect issues and develop doubleclicks, razer has gone through around 7 fucking revisions of the deathadder and STILL can't fix its doubleclick issues, but retards who buy these mice will insist they're great if you RMA them 6 times until you get a working one

if you buy a logitech or razer mouse you are a retard and deserve everything bad that happens to you, and you are a shill if you dare shittalk a different mouse manufacturer while buying a mouse from one of the 2 manufacturers with the worst historical QA and worst price for performance
>>
>>340569782
Max DPI has NO BEARING on the mouse's accuracy. Just the sensitivity, as in how quickly the cursor moves across the screen. In fact, if you want to be accurate, you LOWER the DPI. There's zero benefit to having a high-dpi mouse- you can just increase system-wide sensitivity to achieve the same exact effect.
>>
>>340570436
>meanwhile 3/4ths of logitech mice have acceleration or smoothing issues

delta sensor, which has been in use for years, is the highest quality sensor there is and does not have these issues.

you would also not know smoothing or angle snapping even existed if you had never been told about it.

>>
>>340570507
I thought system wide mouse sensitivity is just a multiplier to the incoming mouse signal, and therefore inherently lower accuracy, while higher dpi just increases the amount of samples taken. So it would have the same effect (faster mouse movement), but would use actual higher precision instead of just multiplying up a lower precision value.

For what it's worth the mouse can also do up to 1000Hz report rate (selectable between 125, 250, 500 and 1000Hz).

you're trying to justify an inferior product at the same pricepoint as far better options by now arguing it doesn't matter which you buy, which if it were true anyways would mean everyone should play on any $10 optical mouse rather than buy your inferior mouse

as you say yourself even the shitty mx518 with its awful smoothing was amazing comparatively for its time, but you idiots want to pretend like the mx518 is still the only mouse that's ever been made, every current logitech product just rides on the reputation of the mx518 as being the first mouse widely available with a sensor somewhat better than cheap laser options, and just as you would be a retard for using the inferior ball option then, you are a retard for using or recommending logitech right now
>>
>>340572230
Hah, it even has the ring-finger button?
I bet that rustled logitech's jimmies- a razer literally cloned their shit, and then ever so slightly improved it.

Got this one at Massdrop for about $40 or so.
Best mouse I've ever owned at a better price than I've often payed in the past. Only con is that it lacks adjustable weight and perhaps a bit more flattering build quality, but it hasn't broken or failed me so far.

Famajam you can't just say that without listing which brands/models. I really love that CM Storm keyboard not just for cheapness but the tacticle feel, it basically feels similar to mech keyboard's raised style, plus the volume hotkeys are extremely useful. I was surprised at how many keyboards simply lack volume hotkeys.

Goddamnit.

At least the left is almost good.
But they don't sell this shit no more.
Nothing on the market is optimized to put the most easily-distinguishable buttons within reach of the left hand.
How is that not the best controller ideal?
What is going on with the industry that this isn't a thing?
>>
>>340561998
I have it, and I hate to say that the Deathadder is better... at least for me, the most important factor in a mouse for me is how comfortable it is to use it, how well it fits in your hands, how smooth the clicks are, etc.

The Deathadder has a smoother grip, it's lighter, the clicks feel much easier to press....

But it's a good mouse, the best feature are probably the buttons (sniper button kind of sucks though) they are easy to reach and press, also the software works pretty well (much better than Synapse by the way)
>>
>>340565671
I fell for this meme and this mouse is complete garbage. It has shit ergonomics and is laughably big. I enjoy my $7 amazonbasics mouse more than this.

Ah I get it. Now that you mention it that's why I don't quicksave and quickload with F5 and F9 anymore.
>>
>>340567142

I'm using one of these, it started dropping signal due to a bend right at the front of the mouse.

I took it apart and pulled the cord into the mouse about half an inch so the worn piece of cord wouldn't wiggle around. This fixed it but I still figured I'd upgrade to the G502 Spectrum for the RGB and keep this one for backup.
