It cleared nothing up and just got more up it's own ass with the religious symbolism so fucking morons who think the are smarter than they are would stroke their neckbeards and say, "Yes, yes. Don't listen to the faggots saying it sucks and pretends to be complicated. It's a simple premise and deconstruction of mecha anime. All it really is about is what if they really threw some insecure kid in the process of growing up the burden of saving the world. That's it, the fights are fun, the art is fascinating, and It the characters interact is interesting. It's a fun watch in my opinion. Of course it isn't the best anime but you can see how it influenced a lot of other shows (raxephon, eureka 7, line barrels of iron and the list goes on). If you're mentally ill the show is that much more entertaining as you can relate to the characters a little. It's a clusterfuck but it's a fun one, definitely worth the watch.
