Such a "CINEMATIC EXPERIENCE". It's just like "watching" a movie. But in a video game.
Pre-Rec is the living embodiment of the smug, detached Gen-X ethos.
I'd venture to guess none of them has felt a single sincere conviction about anything since childhood. They exist as polyps upon the colon of culture, satiating themselves on the perceived failures of others (i.e. "The Man") while adding nothing new to the discourse aside from ironic complaint.
They're a group of insecure, lost, rapidly aging burnouts who silently believe they could do a better job of making games than the professionals in the industry. Yet they lack the ambition and ability to actually enter the very industry they're obsessed with. They choose instead to fuck around and make student film piss-takes well into middle age.
They are awful, awful people. I've met thousands just like them, and the last thing we need is for these people to gain any attention for their navel gazing.

All of that aside. Where is the gameplay. Where is the game in this Videogame. If everything you do is so heavily scripted why even bother buying and playing it. You could literally just watch the entire game on youtube because they funnel everyone's experiences into the same scripted blob which limits player expression and the possibility of unique experiences. These are the things that keep many gamers coming back to their favorite games. I'm not for hating every new thing that comes out but should a game that gets so much praise be blindly supported because it's new? Especially when it has notable problems. TLDR That all said its animations are crisp and the graphics are damn impressive but from a gameplay standing it is lacking.

If the game can't successfully grip you and make you enjoy it, then it is failing at it's job. And there's really no defending it. The gameplay doesn't magically change later on, the scenes don't magically get more exciting. It's exactly as bland and predictable as it always is.

That's bullshit. Most of what he says has merit when it comes to games. He doesn't mind story in his games as long as it's integrated well with the gameplay. He doesn't like it when companies put the story first and gameplay second because you end up with nothing more than interactive movies.
