Did you back Mighty Number 9?

If you did, do you regret doing so?
>>
I did and absolutely I regret it. I will not touch anything related to Con Man ever again.
>>
I backed it and Bloodstained and it's the worst two decisions I've made in a long time.
>>
>>340498413
Didn't

Will probably buy it used a few months after release
>>
>>340498413
Five dollars got me into the backer forums, which I only started really accessing after the delay at the end of January this year, just to see people's regret.
>>
Yep.

Not only did it make me want to not want to back anything for awhile after a lot of the controversy, but I feel like there were projects that were far better that I could have put that money towards. Hell, I wish I put a few more bucks towards Shantae then this crap.

I will still play it, but if its anything like the Alpha gameplay it is going to be shit.
>>
This and Armikrog put me off kickstarter entirely
>>
It made me feel like a chinese cartoon connoisseur on the evening of a formal adolescent function.

Yes, it hurts immeasurably but I get what I had coming to me.

Good thing I backed La Mulana 2 so I at least have that....
>>
As a huge mega man fan I trusted this was going to be amazing. Five hundred dollars later and I still have hope it'll be good. Being thirty five is suffering....
>>
>>340499504
I'm 35 and I backed it too and yet I also didn't back it for 500 dollars, hahaha you sucker. I can see why you're in denial.
>>
>>340499156
what's wrong with Armikrog?
>>
What happened to the graphics though? They never looked "good" but the recent screenshots are an obvious downgrade even from that.
>>
>>340499504
>500$
Holy shit
>>
>>340499751

It was extremely mediocre in every way an adventure can be, that's about it.
>>
Nah. It looks like a fun Megaman clone and that's all I really expected. I didn't put more money down than I needed to get the game because I'm not an idiot. And I'm not mad about delays because I'm not an autistic man child.

Megaman fans tend to overhype the quality of the original Megaman games anyways, and most people liked the series for the spin offs and not even the mainline titles

It's mediocre at best, so much for that return of the Point and Click adventure Genre.

Crowdfunding has produced great stuff, but remember: More money makes the devs more careless.

yes I do, but at the same time I am happy that it didn't make me completely lose faith in kickstarter.
Else I wouldn't have backed Bloodstained, Formula Fusion, Indivisible or Shantae, which all look promising. Kinda wishing I had backed Yooka-Laylee too, but i couldn't justify backing anything at that time cause I was broke as shit.

It's also kind of interesting to be invested in the development of a game, and I went in knowing that I might waste my money completely, so I don't really count MN9 as a loss, far from it, it is actually coming out and I can play it
>>
i'll probably give my copy of it away when it comes out here

I backed it $250.

not really upset; as I know I'm gonna speedrun and play the fuck out of it, but I am upset that all you fucking cucks of /v/ try to create boogeymen out of the scenario.

Inafune is a fantastic game designer
Inticreates is more than capable of fun action
Dina is actually what ruined this game for the board you fucking cucks, though she was p awful

I also tried backing Red Ash, fuck you.

INAFKING is my favorite, you guys are just out to hate something. I know theres no stopping it so I'm not even gonna bother.
>>
>>340500891
look, its gonna be boring, especially for speedrunners. there is nothing faster than mashing dash, which is what you would do anyway, and there are a plethora of segments which are made to slow you down and have you sit around. bosses have hardcaps on the damage they take that must be repeatedly broken by dashing onto them before you can hurt them any more.

also, just try doing calls stage for a speedrun, its boss is 100% rng, and will void any constancy for runs.
>>
I'm not sure any more.
I mean I logged in to Kickstarter to check messages and Mighty No. 9 wasn't under my backed stuff.
But I still have the emails and surveys and shit?
Even still, I regret it.

Seriously the moment he was shilled at reddit and got tons of cash, it was over. No one could tell him to get the fuck back to work and call him out on his vacations, it was all about how great and fun his game is after that.

I backed it.

I'm never backing anything again.

Looks fine to me.
Obviously there's no advanced movement mechanics and shit in yet but it looks less clunky to use basic movement than SOTN.

I donated 250 fucking dollars. What kind of stupid question is that? Of course not? They had enough time to do some fixing to the game so it was definitely worth it. I have zero fucking regrets.

how the fuck you say its mediocre when they dont even show the gameplay

Yes.

I don't regret it so far.

Mega Man always looked bad for the most part, who cares.

I haven't played it yet. The gameplay from what I've seen looks like Mega Man/MMZ.

I backed it. I had faith in it. I ignored the forum drama involving whatever the hell her name was and just waited for game info.

Of course I do. Who wouldn't?

Not totally turned off of backing games, though. Just more selective. Backed Shantae and Indivisible, and both of those look promising.
>>
I did, for $60.

Despite the fact that I have completely and utterly exhausted all good will I had towards the game defending it for the first few years and expect it to be mediocre at best and garbage at worst, I don't regret it. It was a learning experience, and a relatively inexpensive one.
>>
>>340505538
>3DS and Vita are platforms it's releasing on. I'm sure they're cutting back to make it easier to port to those. It's shit.
I know that the 3DS is on the weak end, but if you think that automatically means it has to look like something as trash as Mighty Number 9 then you can't have played much 3DS at all.

Rather than a 3DS game, Mighty Number 9 kind of looks like a poor DS game but with better AA. And the difference is huge.
There is absolutely no reason for Mighty Number 9 to look this garbage even with the 3DS in mind.

I backed none of them. But in retrospect I kind of wish that I had backed both Yooka-Laylee and Bloodstained. But I thank god I never backed Mighty#9.

That said, I still think it's a rather good idea to avoid spending your money on goods before they're even made. Or at the very least be very cautious when doing so. I'll still be able to buy Yooka-Laylee and Bloodstained and now I don't have to bother with Mighty#9.
>>
>>340517572
>That said, I still think it's a rather good idea to avoid spending your money on goods before they're even made
What, you never eat at a restaurant?
>>
>>340517659
I suppose I should have clarified by stating that I meant brand new products.

I wouldn't be inclined to buy an un-tested recipe/meal at a restaurant that no one has eaten before, no.
>>
>>340517659
God damn it fuck you, you know what he means. Would you eat at a restaurant where you get your food a year later, unless the restaurant closes, in which case you get nothing and don't get your money back?
>>
>>340517659
also I've never been to a decent restaurant that made you pay first. Only fast food, burger joints, and cheap buffets
>>
>>340517572
>wishing you had crowdfunded
lol
>>
nope

I've never backed anything because anything I've ever had an interest in on Kickstarter basically gets funded several times over.

If it's good when it comes out, I'll just buy it for its base price. Otherwise, no loss.
>>
>>340498413
The fuck is up with that shit?
>>
Did that documentary ever come out? That was something they wanted us to fund.

Also, funfact: It's been nearly a year since Red Ash's kickstarter.

It's a bit of a shame. If something like Mighty Number 9 never happened or if it actually came out when it was supposed to minus all the shit that happened during its production, I think Kickstarters would be more well regarded nowadays.
