What are some phone games that aren't COMPLETE shit?
Literally the only good phone game I have played in my 5 years of owning a smartphone has been pic related.
There has to be more, /v/.
Puzzle and dragons

Aside from emulation, it's a lost cause. Literally 90% of games are built to jew you out of your money, 5% are paid ports, and the other 5% are free from microtransactions but are complete shit to compensate.
This has nice art and songs but you don't get many songs with the free version and extra book collections are like $5 each.
I don't know what buying the full version does if all the books are different prices.

I should probably mention that books are song collections

GTA: SA has a pretty good mobile port

This and Cytus are possibly my 2 favorite rhythm games to date (same dev). Buying the full version of either game gets you most of the songs, but the song packs are fucking ridiculously overpriced. You'd end up paying like 3x the actual game value just to own all the packs in each respective game. If they just fucking priced each pack at $1 I would buy them all instantly.
When I had a decent phone I downloaded emulators a lot. Never really got too much "into" phone gaming.
OpenTyrian you plebs. Easily one of the best shoot-em-ups working flawlessly on android.

Terra Battle. Has restored some serious faith in mobile games for me.
Seems pretty straightforward at first, manipulate unit positions on the grid to set up pincer attacks on enemies by trapping them between your units. They then start to just pile on different abilities and skills and enemy types and some downright devilish bosses.
Even has a pretty entertaining story running alongside it as you go.
Give it a whirl, there is lots of fun to be had in it
