UWP apps don't get full access to console hardware, they get same resources as twitter and other apps you can run alongside your Xbone games.
So how do I get ROMs? Edge doesn't allow downloads, and USBs only support media files. And MS can't allow it to have them in built or it's illegal.

It's not very demanding surprisingly. N64 is harder to emulate than the ps1. Only problem with ps1 emulation is ISO size. I'm sure you'll be able to run then through USB. It would be silly to restrict USB access if MS wants seem less integratiln with all there aps. Especially office .

I'm assuming this is how it will work: You download this guys app/program, go on the internet and download some gameboy roms (i.e. a gameboy game file) and transfer it to the xbox through a usb (unless you can just download straight to the xbox). Then you run the app and it will bring you to a browser of the files on your xbox, you find the rom and run it. The app will most likely also include save states (saving the game at the exact spot you're in rather than at an actual save point) and some kind of turbo to speed through intros and stuff.

The developer of VBA10 has expressed interest in bringing his application over to the xboner for months. Hell UWP on the xboner has been teased for fucking years. You guys are late as hell.
Just a heads up, these applications run on the windows partition of the xboner, as in limited to 2.5GB RAM and a couple of other limitations. Emulators are nowhere near RAM heavy, but systems like the PS2 could prove to be challenging. Still if you have an xboner your not using you could probably get PCSX2 to install right now, but you'll need to make changes to get it running.
