This. All I can figure is that the CEOs who ruined the story also kept pestering Hitoshi Sakimoto to make his music sound 'more like Star Wars'. Instead of Tactics, which was his most unique OST. If you listen to the music for FFXII, it sounds like someone was making a cheap knock off of John Williams. One song is even taken directly out of the movie Hook.

This, the 12 OST was a giant mess. Most of the songs were a cacophony of noise with a distinct lack of a strong melody or theme to guide them. What made things worse is the horrid use of songs throughout the game, they used full on battle themes as the base background music for many of the zones and it totally ruined the experience.
There are maybe 2-3 memorable pieces and the rest is whatever. With the FF10 OST you saw them shoehorn in random instruments and remove signature aspects to songs and that ruined the entire soundtrack. Here though, here they have a chance to fix a disaster.

I the izjs version anyone can be any class. If you are a min-maxing autist then some characters do work better as a class than others (like ashe as a samurai), but generally anything works. If for whatever reason you decide to play the original version...stay away from penelo...
