It's just a business and as long as people buy sequels(which isn't going to stop anytime soon) they'll keep churning out more. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if single player video games went out of style in the next decade with more increased focus on online connectivity, so they can cut down on piracy and maximize their profits.
