I didn't want to. I didn't like her at all and sided with others at every turn in the game. Even if she was a likeable character, I wouldn't have sacrificed a whole town for her.
But I did choose to save her because the plot wouldn't have made sense otherwise. I spent the whole game saving her, I felt like letting her die in the last decision would've made it all a big waste of time.

The most tragic part of the game is that only Max carries the memories of what happened. I still would have preferred there to be no choice at all, and only have Chloe die and the town saved. It would fit more in line with the games themes and also stop a lot of the bitching about the half-assed choice at the end.
