Dishonored felt like a spiritual successor to Deus Ex a bit. I've never played Thief though. Didn't want to work on my PC.

I agree, Thief specializes in being in the dark and finding alternate paths while Deus Ex has you kinda finding a way to sneak past enemies in a corridor
