I'm planning on buying a PS4 this month and afterwards an XboxOne. Anyone have any good recommendations for either console? The games I'm getting for the PS4 at the moment are DarkSouls 3, Persona 5, Uncharted 4, Fallout 4, Overwatch and Doom.

Look at Nintendo and their N3DS. Not only is Nintendo always criticized for their bullshit, no that thing doesn't even have a proper library. And compared to that handheld, the Neo won't even have enhancements further than the graphics.

I highly recommend EDF4.1, N++ and Bloodborne (in case you'll only buy 1 souls game, get bloodborne instead of DaS3, otherwise have fun with both)
Skip Fallout4, not only is it a shitty game in general, it also runs really badly on consoles, get the PC version if you must. As an alternative to an open world game, get MGS5 (story is criticized, and the last third is rushed, but the gameplay itself is fun), I'd even recommend AssCreed: Black Flag over FO4, at least using your ship and being a pirate is fun.
For Xbone get MCC if you skipped Halo's campaigns, they are very fun especially on legendary, and perfect couch co-op games.

Exactly. See what happened? Nothing. The 3DS fanbaseinte wasn't split in any way even though nintendo pushed for N3DS exclusives. Sony expressably doesn't allow for any PS4neo exclusive feattures, graphics/performance aside. Store, Saves, online server, games & more will all work on both the base and Neo models.
Nothing of that sort is known about the Scorpio yet, but I doubt MS would want to abandon their current 20m userbase.
