I do alright. Definitely the best locally and I do well with just about any Capcom fighter, including derivatives like Skullgirls. Getting used to King of Fighters and Tekken, but still mostly stick to Third Strike and the JoJo Arcade game on Fightcade or MvC3 on 360. Still need to get more fundamentals down to do better online, but I hold my own well enough to keep it interesting and understand enough to learn each time, so I havefun.

I stick mainly to 2D, non Anime fighters. Pretty mediocre at those. I have my core fundamentals and my inputs are good when I play often. I can beat the people I play casually with consistenly. Online is hit and miss, and I have too much anxiety to fuck with playing in tournaments.
As far as Anime and 3d fighters I don't worry about them as much. I have a lot of fun with Guilty Gear, P4A(U), and Tekken though. Not nearly as good at those though.

Yes and no, but that is the point of marvel. There might be like 50 characters and only 10-15 of them will be worth playing because of how broken they are, so you pick 3 of those characters.
Especially when it comes to Marvel 2, they might as well remove 75% of the cast because there is no point in playing them, but that isn't a bad thing because there is still lots of diversity in the 10-15 characters that are worth playing.

How do I get used to SC5 after playing 4 for years? Everything just feels so different?

as far as i know hes the grappler of BlazBlue. and CPUs in fighting games on harder difficulties tend to read inputs like a motherfucker. So its not much of a case of you being bad i would think, its more along the lines that he can basically punish your jab on frame 1 and SPD you to death everytime.
My advice is just dont play against CPUs. it only teaches you how to exploit an AI anyway, it's not good practice. go be an online warrior instead.

it used to be because i had shit internet but i dont really know why now. I've genuinely spent 1000 hours in mvc3 training mode just learning silly ohko combos with the entire cast, fucking around with teams, learning vergil sword loops, wierd dante shit etc.
Also people who complain about umvc3 being about the same characters all the time are fucking dumb. There is a huge variety of teams in high level play. Just off the top of my head and i haven't watched anything in over 6 months but you have Chris G with the Morridoom team, a bunch of big Magnus players like RayRay, Champ, but champ also has the Dormammu team. Apology man with Phoenix Skrull, Justin with Wolverine Akuma, Bee had a really good spencer and i think he had a frank dante team at some point.
seriously if you look at top 16 character representation its pretty healthy. The only non characters are Jill, Hsien Ko, Tron (rip vanilla tron) Chris, Iron Fist, Ghost Rider, Spider Man (yes i know about Mame Spider) X-23, Ryu and Chun.
Although im aware there are cases of them being used occasionaly im just saying theyre not in high level play much. That still leaves a large amount of the cast being played
