completely throws out all the concepts of DMC1 and DMC3 (which built off DMC1 in many ways) for DUDE INFINITE AIR JUGGLES LMAO
every single enemy is annoying as fuck to fight, people bitch about some of the annoying enemies in DMC3 but you still have to actively fight them (even the angels that block everything still let you constantly attack their shield and break them quickly)
every single enemy in DMC4 spends half the fight either running away or in some sort of "you can't damage me now lol" mode

It was the first 3D action game that didn't play like total shit and it's influence is still felt today with every single 3D action game having very watered down versions of it's mechanics. I hate nero's tippy-tap exceed mechanic. It's not fun. I do agree with you that dante doesn't mesh with the game, since it's blatantly built around nero. I think you're still being a bit harsh, but yeah.
The enemies are OK for the most part. Frost in their ice cage let you wail on them and if you break them out of the cage they take serious damage, those flower fusions are meant to force you to use other mechanics than melee and getting in their face, knights can be faked on of their block or you can roll behind, assaults are easy to break, and so on. Fausts are trash though, I hate them since they have so much HP for their shroud and tend to just stand there or float away making it not about a trick, but plain old dps, and the blitz is annoying just for the sake of it. For me, I just wanted more enemy types, but I have a far bigger problem with level design (ex, excessive size) and mission design (ex, red orbs).

I think it's more the animation length and long commits that makes DMC1 feel clunky to most. Probably something it shares with MH, which I don't really like at all, so that might be my own bias. There certainly is a "curazy" brigade out there that behave like you say, but they seem to be the minority and they've mostly dispersed, since even their autism can't last for 10 years on one game. I do miss the variety of past gen action games though. That seems gone, mostly because B-team are dead now, rather than that vocal minority bullying them into DMC only design.
4 would be GOAT if it was an actual finished game.
Special edition was such a disappointment, instead of actually making more game content they just added overpowered bonus characters that were not challenging to use at all.

Pandora laser does 1/5th of a bar, I tried. I hate myself for this, but I like Nero more than Dante in DMC4. I like the Buster, the EX/MAX-Act, the Exceed, the charge shots, it just flows so well and it's just so fun without going full cinematic.

kay kids, time for some real talk. Dub Scryed is the best God damned show ever made, and will ever be made, in the history and future of visual entertainment. It's about this badass dude with a nuclear-powered arm and a jet engine on his back who takes shit from no man. Basically he enjoys his life living in an abandoned dentist's office in the slums with his loli fangirl until some uniformed douchebags from the city across the way show up to wreck his stuff and kidnap him. From that point on he, Kazuma The Shell Bullet (the main character. last names are for pussies), devotes his life to kicking their asses, especially this one pompus, justice-obsessed guy named Ryuho. He's pretty much your cliche bishounen hero and serves as the other main character of the show.The main theme of the series is their rivalry in particular. No matter what else goes on in this show, it all ultimately boils down to our badass hero and our girly nerd hero wanting to beat the shit out of each other.
But seriously now, Scryed is basically what you'd get if you took Naruto, Bleach, DBZ and Code Geass, cut out the filler, terrible writing, homoerotic overtones and everything else that brings those shows down and put the gold left over into 26 episodes. Speaking of Code Geass, that series is literally just Scryed after Goro Taniguchi got paid tons of money to add Clamp art, school crap, robots and double the series length for no reason.
