Would you say videogames and the whole state of the industry are better now compared to before?

No.
>>340389367
Fuck no
Videogames died in like 2005-2007

Elaborate.

Video games became mainstream.

In gen 7
-Splitscreen games became obsolete by devs
-Early access, DLC and paid online became standar policies
-PS3 sucked, Xbox was shit and the Wii was a casualfest system
-Games that killed entire genres (CoD being the prime example)
-Games with mandatory motion controls
-Quality of games decreased
Today way more degenerate thanks to jews and SJW

>-Early access, DLC and paid online became standar policies
Xbox tried to abolish it in 2005 by pushing the devs to deliver full game that are not broken
They get more money, sadly that doesn't translate into better videogames.
Better in some ways, worse in others.
Better in that lots of solid games are coming out, the industry isn't broke like after ET fucked it, and as always, technology is improving which directly improves games.
Worse in that with all the money being thrown into these games, no big triple A company is going to take risks. It shows how stagnant the majority of games are when something like Undertale which is average but slightly original gets such incredible praise.
Also worse in that with all the mainstream media attention and SJW crap related to it has dramatically lowered the quality of games journalism.

There is nothing inherently wrong with early access or DLC.
Retards just buy early access for a game they don't currently like, but think it will get better for reason.
Minecraft is a prime example of early access done right. Every update was exciting as fuck.
Look at the shivering isles, or the new Witcher DLC for good examples of DLC.

this
beforehand, video games were a fringe kind of thing, and so devs weren't pushed at all to appeal to whatever cashcow the retarded public bought into
